🎉THANK YOU, LUDDENDEN VALLEY!🎉

As the weekend comes to a close, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make the heritage day such a success.

Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers who gave their time before, during and after the event; to all our speakers for sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm; and to the St Mary's team, Luddenden History Group, Luddenden Conservation Society and Wainstalls Community Action Group for their hours of hard work in creating such fascinating displays and activities.

Most of all, thank you to the hundreds of people who came along to support the day. It was fantastic to see so many people interested in the history, heritage and stories of our valley. Your support, conversations and enthusiasm made the event truly special.

We look forward to doing it all again next year!

In 1901, the majority of those living in the Luddenden Valley were born within a few miles, however many came from further away…. Do you know why so many came from Liverpool?
