What a lovely evening spent with Pipe Up for Pipe Organs, who filmed and recorded at the Chapel for two hours. Andreas played the organ for the first time since its maintenance work, which was made possible by a Pipe up for Pipe Organs’ generous Sleeping Beauty Grant. We couldn’t resist filming them, filming us! We hope you might come and hear the organ being played at our open day on the 19th September. Look out for the finished Sleeping Beauties film in a few weeks time on Pipe up for Pipe Organ’s website and social media and see if you can spot Mount Zion!

We are very pleased to announce that work has started on preserving the Anneessens Organ, thanks to a small grant from Pipe Up for Pipe Organs, Sleeping Beauties fund. It looks very quiet at Mount Zion Methodist Heritage Chapel today, but it is in fact a hive of activity. We are looking forward to inviting organ enthusiasts to come and play this instrument, once this work is complete. It still needs significant investment to save the organ from deteriorating further, but it's so exciting to see this initial work in progress.

What a beautiful day at Mount Zion, fabulous to hear everyone in such good voice. Thank you to everybody who came along and supported this first, (in recent years) summer service led by Wendy Tolson. We’d love to see it become an annual event. How lovely does the Peace Garden look? It was so nice to see it full of people today. Thank you for your help Philip Wagstaff, Patricia Astwood, Philippa Hadwen.

Please join us this weekend. All welcome!

The Chapel is open today until 3.00 pm, it's lovely and cool, quiet and there's lots to see. If you prefer the outdoors, why not sit, reflect and relax in the Irene Cunliffe Memorial Peace Garden. It's looking lovely in the sunshine, thanks to our volunteer Phil. The Peace Garden is open every day.
