🌳 The Great Luddenden Picnic 2026 🌳

In the fourth year of The Great Luddenden Picnic, we're absolutely delighted to announce that we've raised nearly £1,700 for St Mary's in Luddenden 🎉

There are so many people we'd like to thank:

🌳 To everyone who came along – thank you for supporting our church and making the day such a success.

☀️ To our amazing marquee team – for putting them up (and taking them down!). No small task!

🎶 To Matt Hayes, Susie Bloomfield Music and The Nightingales – thank you for providing such fantastic live music and helping create a wonderful atmosphere throughout the day.

🎤 To Kevin & Steve – for compering the event and running the brilliant sound system.

🍰 To everyone who donated raffle prizes and baked for our ever-popular cake stall – your generosity is hugely appreciated.

🌳 To the Luddenden Mayor’s Fund, especially John & Sue Saxton – without your knowledge, equipment and hard work, this event simply wouldn't happen.

🎨 To St Mary's Coffee Drop-In – for funding the craft activities, and to Nic Cutts for organising them.

🏖️ To Ken Giles for organising the fantastic sand pit.

🍺 To Lord Nelson Inn Luddenden Village – for opening early and keeping everyone refreshed throughout the day.

🎟️ To The Secret Cafe and The Pop-In Shop – for selling tickets on our behalf.

🏖️A little surprise for our younger visitors🏖️

With the forecast looking fantastic, we've decided to bring back a sandpit – just like we used to have at the St Mary's Summer Fayres years ago!

It's the perfect place for little ones to dig, build and play, so don't forget to bring a bucket and spade!🪣🏰

There's more to keep the children entertained too:

🧺The Great Luddenden Picnic is almost here... and it's looking like we're in for another scorcher!☀️

The forecast is currently 27°C and sunshine all day – just like last year!😎

Here are a few top tips to help you stay cool while enjoying the fun:
🧢Bring a hat – shade is your best friend!
💧Stay hydrated – The Lord Nelson will be open early, and St Mary's will be serving tea, coffee and cold drinks throughout the day.
🧴Don't forget your suncream – and remember to top it up during the day.
🌳Take a break in the shade – we've got plenty of trees to relax under between activities.

Pack your picnic, bring your blankets and camping chairs, and get ready for a fantastic day.

We're delighted to reveal our full live music line-up for the Great Luddenden Picnic 2026!

🌟Susie Bloomfield Music – returning for her fourth consecutive year, bringing her incredible vocals and feel-good favourites.

🎸Matt Hayes – back by popular demand after a fantastic debut at last year's Picnic.

🎤The Nightingales – a fabulous vintage vocal trio from Halifax, performing everything from wartime classics to 60s girl group hits and much more.

With three fantastic acts performing twice throughout the afternoon, alongside garden games, crafts, delicious food, candy floss and our ever-popular raffle, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
