We were blessed with beautiful weather for our Corps Walk on Saturday, the sun was shining and a refreshing coastal breeze kept us cool as we walked along Southend Pier, the longest pleasure pier in the world at 1.33 miles!

Thank you to all who joined us to enjoy this glorious walk.

We’re delighted to discover that a pigeon has chosen a quiet spot at Hadleigh Temple to nest her eggs. This is a lovely reminder of how important our shared spaces are for local wildlife. Even in busy environments, nature finds a way to create safe places to rest, nest, and raise new life.

We’ll be giving her the space she needs and doing our best to avoid disturbing her while she looks after her eggs.
Meaningful moments like these highlight how we can all play a part in caring for Gods creation - even in the small ways. 🐣💚

Fantastic achievement!👏🏻

A big Sally Army ‘thank you’ to all our fantastic fundraisers who ran in the London Marathon yesterday, raising over £105k for our work with vulnerable people across the UK and Ireland. You put in the training, you ate the carbs and you powered through the pain! We cannot thank you enough for your dedication, energy, and enthusiasm. 👏

Good news – registration for the London Marathon 2027 ballot is now open! Be part of something huge, and make a difference to those who need it most. Apply for your place now: https://brnw.ch/21x1YPb

[Image description: A vibrant collage of photos of The Salvation Army at the London Marathon in 2026. There is an excited Shieldy, The Salvation Army mascot, waving his arms in the air. There is a large banner from the cheer point that reads 'Go Team Sally Army'. There is a photo of one of our runners' tattoos which says 'this is tough but you are tougher'. Finally there are two people playing timbrels that are adorned with colourful ribbons.]
