Bar 'n' Bus at Basildon Community Day!

We were delighted to take part in the Basildon Community Day in Basildon Town Centre, joining a fantastic range of organisations and services supporting residents across the borough.

It was a great opportunity for the Bar 'n' Bus team to meet local residents, connect with other organisations and talk about the support, activities and opportunities we provide for young people across Basildon.

If you'd like to find out more about Bar 'n' Bus and the work we do with young people, visit our website: http://www.barnbus.org.uk

A big thank you to Basildon Council for bringing everyone together and for allowing us to be part of such a positive community event.

Loom Band Masterclass at Wickford Skatepark!

Our team recently took our loom band masterclass to Wickford Skatepark, giving young people the opportunity to get creative, have fun and connect with our youth workers in a space they have chosen to spend time in.

We are really pleased to be strengthening our connection with Wickford through our partnership with Wickford Town Council.

By working together and bringing activities directly into the community, we can create more opportunities for young people to engage, have fun and feel connected to the support available to them locally.

Being Me Group Picnic 🌸

What a lovely time we had with our Being Me group at our recent picnic!

The picnic was a wonderful opportunity for our young people to spend time together in a relaxed and positive environment, building friendships, developing confidence and enjoying some well-deserved time outdoors. It was also a chance to talk, share ideas, have fun and strengthen the connections within the group.

We were also delighted to welcome a representative from Basildon Council to speak with our young people about the ongoing Make Space for Girls project.

As part of this project, our young people, in partnership with the Make Space for Girls Charity, had the opportunity to share their ideas and experiences about outdoor spaces and what they would like to see in their local community.

It was fantastic to see our young people engaging in the conversation, expressing their views and recognising that their ideas and voices can help shape the places and spaces around them.

A big thank you to our guest from Basildon Council for taking the time to meet with the group and continue this important conversation, and to Make Space for Girls for working alongside us to give young women a voice in the future of our outdoor spaces.

What a fantastic football match! ⚽

Our young people from Laindon recently took on the Youth Work Team at Basildon Sporting Village, and what a brilliant match it was!

We were incredibly proud to see our young people demonstrate competitiveness, commitment, passion, dedication, teamwork and, most importantly, confidence throughout the game.

It was fantastic to see them encouraging one another, working together as a team and pushing themselves both on and off the pitch. These are exactly the kinds of experiences that help young people build confidence, develop positive relationships and discover what they are capable of achieving.

A huge well done to everyone who took part! The whole team at Bar 'n' Bus couldn't be prouder of you all!

A reminder: Support the Bar ’n’ Bus Fun Walk! 🚶‍♂️

We’re getting closer to our first-ever Bar ’n’ Bus Fun Walk on Saturday, 12th September at Wat Tyler Park, starting at 10:00am!

Our 2-mile walk is more than just a fundraising event. It’s an opportunity to raise awareness of the work we do and help us continue supporting young people aged 10-19 through detached youth work, in-school mentoring, group work projects and our mobile youth work.

And there’s another reason your support could go even further!

This year, we’ve registered our Fun Walk with the Fun Walk Trust, a charity that supports local fundraising initiatives. The Trust has a bonus pot funded by local businesses, which is used to top up the money raised by participating organisations.

That means your donation could be worth even more, helping us have an even greater impact on the lives of local young people.

Please support our team by sponsoring us using the QR code on the flyer.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps us continue providing safe spaces, trusted support and opportunities for young people to thrive.

Can’t donate? That’s absolutely okay!
You can still help by sharing this post with your family, friends and colleagues and helping us reach more people.

Let’s make our first Bar ’n’ Bus Fun Walk a fantastic success!

Thank you for continuing to support Bar ’n’ Bus. We really couldn’t do it without you!

Our Mission: What is Bar ’n’ Bus Trust all about?

We thought it was important to share a little more about who we are, what we believe and why we do what we do.

Bar ’n’ Bus is a Christian-based charity working across the communities of South Essex, supporting young people aged 10–19.

At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief:

Every young person is precious to God. ❤️

We exist to support young people and create opportunities that respond to their social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs, while embracing the diversity of every young person we meet.

That can look different for everyone.

It might be having someone to talk to, making new friends, trying something for the first time, getting involved in an activity, discovering a talent, building confidence or simply having a safe and welcoming place to belong.

We want young people to know that they matter, that they are valued and that there are people who believe in them.

We’re sharing our mission because we want our community to understand why Bar ’n’ Bus exists and what we’re working towards every day.

And if you’ve ever wondered how you can support what we do, there are many ways to get involved, through volunteering, fundraising, donating, partnering with us or simply helping to share our story.

Together, we can continue creating positive opportunities for young people across South Essex.
