St Marys Church Haddenham We are the Church of England (Anglican) parish church in the village of Haddenham in Buckinghamshire. St.

Mary's, Haddenham is the largest parish in the benefice of Wychert Vale with Cuddington, Kingsey, Stone and Dinton together with Aston Sandford and is part of the Diocese of Oxford. We are also responsible for the ground-breaking Cafeplus+ initiative which meets monthly in the village.

**What difference could Alpha make in your life?**

We thought it would be helpful to share a little of what Alpha has meant to someone who’s actually been on the course.

🎥 Have a watch of this short story — and then perhaps ask yourself: **Could Alpha be for me?**

Alpha is a relaxed and friendly space to explore the big questions of life, faith and God. You don’t need to be a Christian, know anything about the Bible, or have all the answers. You simply come along, enjoy some food, watch a short film and have a conversation. There’s no pressure and no question is off limits.

Our Alpha starts Monday 14 September, 7–9pm, at Haddenham Baptist Church.
It runs for six weeks and is part of Churches Together in Haddenham.

Maybe you’ve been curious about faith for a while. Maybe you’ve got questions you’ve never felt able to ask. Or maybe you simply want to find out what Christianity is really about.

We’d love you to join us this Sunday as we gather to worship, celebrate and grow together in faith.

**9.00am – Holy Communion**
On Trinity 14, we’ll reflect on God’s words to his people: **“You are mine”** and Jesus’ call to **“go and make disciples.”** Through Isaiah 43 and Matthew 28, we’ll think about what it means to know that God calls us by name, is with us, and sends us out.

**10.30am – All Age Morning Worship & Baptism Celebration Sunday** 🎉💧
A special all-age celebration as we welcome those being baptised into the family of God and celebrate what it means to **belong to Jesus and belong to one another**. We’ll hear again Jesus’ words in Matthew 28: “Go and make disciples… and surely I am with you always.”

Whether you’re a regular at St Mary’s, joining us for a baptism, or simply wondering what church is all about, **you’re very welcome.**

A lovely message from Bishop Dave Bull and our Archdeacon, Cassa Messervy, celebrating and thanking everyone across the Buckingham Archdeaconry who has made Lighthouse happen this summer.

We feel very privileged that Lighthouse has a home here in Haddenham — and hugely grateful for the support and encouragement of our Bishop and Archdeacon. Their recognition of the importance of Lighthouse, and of all the volunteers who make it possible, means a lot.

This Sunday we gather to worship together and reflect on what it means to follow Jesus, even when the journey is challenging.

📖 Our readings are Jeremiah 15:15–21 and Matthew 16:21–28, as we hear Jesus speak about taking up our cross and following him.

⛪ 9.00am – Holy Communion
A traditional and reflective service with Holy Communion, prayer and space to encounter God.

🌿 10.30am – All Age Holy Communion
A welcoming service for all ages, with worship, teaching, prayer and Holy Communion together.

Whether you’ve been part of St Mary’s for years, are finding your way back to church, or are simply curious, you are very welcome.
