Folding Paper, Finding Prayer: Art, Hope and Transformation

Can something as simple as folding paper become a moment of prayer, reflection and hope?

This week, we have been delighted to welcome the Revd Jo Lamberth, Vicar of St John's Milford who has been sharing the beautiful and intricate art of 3D origami. We are so grateful to Rev Jo for being with us this week and tomorrow, Friday 16 October, is the last day to meet her.

For the past two years, Jo has used origami as a way of praying, discovering how folding small pieces of paper and bringing them together can create something quite extraordinary. Inspired by the 3D origami swan featured in our Transformations exhibition, Jo has invited visitors to come and have a go, discover the fascinating story behind this craft and explore how creativity can become a way of finding stillness and prayer.

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has come along this week, to those who have folded paper with Jo, written prayers on pieces of old orders of service, and sat a while in reflection. Your presence and participation have made this a truly special week. Rev Jo is now creating something beautiful from all the prayers you've written, and we can't wait to see what unfolds.

Final chance to visit – tomorrow, Friday 16 October:
10.30am to 2.30pm

Come and meet Jo, discover the artwork, join the conversation or simply find a quiet moment. Come and see the exhibition which is now in its final few days. There is something here for you.

Prison Fellowship England & Wales | Prisons Week | Diocese of Guildford

Our Transformations exhibition features remarkable artwork from HMP Coldingley, inviting us to look beyond labels and reflect on the stories, hopes and possibilities behind each piece.

Throughout Prisons Week, there will also be reflection stations where you can spend time with the artwork, explore scripture and find space for personal reflection.

There is still time to visit! Our Transformations exhibition closes on Monday 19 October.

Whether you come to fold paper, discover the artwork, join the conversation or simply find a quiet moment, there is something here for you.

Come in, be curious and see what unfolds.
