The Return of the Haddock! 🐟✈️

When Ralph and Liana Fitzpatrick visited Grimsby in May 2025, they were presented with their very own Harry the Haddock, the legendary mascot of Grimsby Town FC.

We are delighted to see that Harry has settled into Australian life perfectly, as Ralph and Liana brought him along to the Liwara 297 meeting to reunite with Keith and Jenny!

The evening was a beautiful blend of Grimsby pride and Australian hospitality:
Keith was asked to explain the dual significance of his visit: the spiritual history of Our Lady of Walsingham and the "fishy" history of Harry the Haddock.

The room of 60 guests rose to the occasion to celebrate Jenny Littlewood’s 60th Birthday! The Liwara Circle presented her with a delicious box of chocolates to mark the big day. 🎂🍬

Whether it’s a sacred statue, a famous fish or a box of chocolates, these symbols remind us that the Catenian bond is built on shared stories, great humor, and genuine care for one another.

Safe travels to Keith, Jenny, and of course, Harry! 🗺️🤝

A Night of Global Fellowship at Liwara 297!🌍🌟

The "Global Chain" was in full bloom in Perth as Liwara 297 hosted a magnificent evening for Keith and Jenny Littlewood.

With 60 guests in attendance, the room was a testament to the vibrant social life of the Association in Western Australia.

It was a true "who’s who" of Catenian leadership and international connection. The evening was graced by Lou Daly (Director and ANC President) and Rallph Fitzpatrick, alongside four visiting brothers and three visiting gentlemen.

Perhaps the most striking example of our global reach was meeting Bernard Micallef, a joint member of both Swindon (UK) and Sydney! It serves as a perfect reminder that whether you are in a snooker hall in Shipley or a dining room in Perth, you are never more than a handshake away from a Brother.

From the presentation of Our Lady of Walsingham to the sharing of stories across hemispheres, the night at Liwara 297 perfectly captured the spirit of Faith, Family, and Friendship that defines us.

Safe travels, Keith and Jenny, as you continue to prove that the world is a very small place when you're a Catenian! ✈️

The Grimsby Circle mourns the loss of a distinguished Brother and a true gentleman, Wing Commander Brian Barber Green, who passed away recently. A man of immense dedication, intellect, and warmth, Brian was a pillar of the Circle for over four decades.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 16th, at 11:00 am at Corpus Christi Church, followed by a service at the Crematorium at 12:45 pm.
In a moving tribute, Dina has chosen this date for the funeral as it would have marked Brian’s 92nd birthday, and a final celebration of a life well-lived.

Following the services, all are invited to gather at the Grimsby Golf Club to celebrate Brian's remarkable life.
As a mark of respect and solidarity, Grimsby Brothers are requested to wear the Circle tie.
Requiescat in Pace.

The "Chain" stretches from Grimsby to the Australian West Coast! 🌍🤝

Keith and Jenny’s Australian adventure has taken them to the beautiful city of Perth, where they spent a fascinating day with Ralph and Liana Fitzpatrick.

Ralph and Liana are famous for their commitment to Catenian friendship across the globe, and it’s wonderful to see them hosting Keith and Jenny after their own recent trip to the UK. This is exactly what our Association is about...renewing old friendships and making new memories, no matter the distance!

Their tour included a stop at the Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park—a stunning bushland cemetery where the local kangaroos roam freely among the memorial plaques.

It’s a uniquely Australian experience: a place of quiet reflection shared with the country’s most iconic wildlife. A truly peaceful and memorable start to their time in Western Australia!

What a fantastic result for a brilliant evening! 🐟🍟

Huge thanks to everyone who attended the recent Fish and Chip evening. Between the salt, the vinegar, and the great company, we managed to raise over £500 for charity!

It was a true privilege to be joined by our National President, Gerry McCormack, and his wife Anna. Having them with us made the night extra special (though we’re still not sure if they were more excited about the iPad raffle or the haddock!).

55 of us tucked in, shared a laugh, and—miraculously—the A180 stayed open for the journey home! 🚗💨

Check out this shot of (L-R) Lindsey, Gerry, Anna and Jonathan, looking much more dignified than the rest of us did while attacking our chips.

🐟 From the Home of Fish & Chips to the Tropical Coast!

What happens when the "Great Grimsby" tradition meets the sparkling shores of North Queensland? You get a Catenian reunion for the ages! 🌊

Keith Littlewood (Grimsby 185) has swapped the famous North Sea breeze for the tropical warmth of Cairns 349, bringing a bit of Lincolnshire spirit to the Great Barrier Reef.

While the scenery might have changed from the Humber Estuary to the Coral Sea, the Catenian welcome remained exactly the same. Keith was greeted with open arms by President Joe Vella and the Cairns brothers, proving that whether you’re sharing a piece of haddock in Grimsby or a cold drink in the tropics, the bond of our Association is the "secret sauce" that connects us all!

To mark this special occasion, Keith presented Cairns President Joe Vella with a statue of Our Lady of Walsingham.

This gift perfectly symbolizes the Catenian spirit: bringing the ancient traditions of "England’s Nazareth" to the vibrant community of North Queensland.

Safe travels, Keith! Keep enjoying that sunshine, but don't forget to tell them how we do fish and chips back home! 🇬🇧🤝🇦🇺
