In 1890 the Revd George Lester provided the following description of the chapel: “The present elegant little chapel, there is none prettier in the circuit, was built in 1868. It provides sittings for 103 persons. The entire cost exceeded £600. The foundation stone was laid by Mr Francis Sowerby of Aylesby and it was opened on 4th June 1868 by the Revd Benjamin Gregory of the Lambeth Circuit.”
