Thankyou to the very kind people who have contacted us about Calvary Church. The trustees made a decision a few months ago to gift the building to The Church Growth Trust. Information about the CGT can be found on their web page. They ensure churches remain churches. The trustees felt it was the best way forward for Godโs work to continue in that building. Many people contributed to the church over the years: spiritually, financially and emotionally. The โ smallโ building as we called it, was built in 1972 and the larger building added in 1976. As trustees who were present at the churches beginnings, we feel honoured and blessed to have participated in such a wonderful move of God. We pray that it will continue to be a place of blessing where people will come to know Jesus as their saviour. The church officially changed hands on October 2nd. Thankyou too to the neighbours who have kept an eye on the building. It really was appreciated. Thankyou to the people who have telephoned in the last few days to offer their very kind regards. We are grateful. The Church Growth Trust now takes care of the church and organises tenancies so that the church remains true to the Christian values it was built on. Thankyou too to the Council who leased the land. We have some wonderful memories, both past and present. The first full time Pastor was Fred Grossmith. He was a sincere, godly man. We hope that his family realise that we were blessed to have him in this role and that he will not be forgotten. Love and blessings from Julie Mason, Rosaline Rouse and John Paddison.
