God’s people are coming together for special Easter celebration
At this special time in the Christian calendar and adopted by so many nations, Inverclyde Christian Initiative has planned a special Easter Day celebration event in the Greenock Town Hall at 7pm on Sunday 5th April and the whole world locally and beyond are warmly invited to come along and be a part of it.
For the Initiative, Chris Jewell said, ‘One of the greatest events to hit mankind happened at Easter when Jesus, God’s only Son, rose from the dead after an awful death by crucifixion three days earlier. Despite a trusted Roman guard at the tomb where He was laid, He wasn’t in the tomb on the third day and subsequently appeared to His disciples and others in the days that followed, having risen from the dead.
‘The Bible tells us that there had been a violent earthquake, and an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the entrance stone.’
The evening will include an amazing life changing story as well as uplifting songs of hope, led by a local Christian band. The event is free to attend and will last approximately an hour or so.
Chris added, ‘At a time where there appears to be increasing interest in Christianity particularly among young adults, this event is an opportunity for people from all the denominations or none and the churches here in Inverclyde to come together to celebrate Easter together in the presence of God. We hope that as many as can manage will be with us on this special occasion. Whoever you are, you will be made most welcome’.
