Just saw the article in the Greenock Telegraph on Larkfield then and now. There was a bit of journalistic assumption. St Ninian's buildings were described as "abandoned for many years!"
They were in use until February 2020 when Covid hit at the point when our heating failed. Covid stopped us effecting further repairs to our halls and installing a new heating system.
During the lockdown we had burst pipes which added thousands to any refurbishment costs forcing us to sell the site. We sought a buyer who would develop the site to enhance the local community.
Following Covid roughly 50% of our congregation stopped coming to church and we met as a congregation in Meadowlark Hall.
With the closure of Meadowlark we have moved to the Community Hall on Lothian Road.
Throughout all of this we have been supported by our linked congregation "Old Gourock and Ashton".
