What a joyful morning at Great Yarmouth Minster! Today we had the great privilege of celebrating the baptism of Charlie and John, who were both baptised by full immersion before our church family.

There is something wonderfully powerful about full immersion baptism — going down into the water and rising again to new life in Christ. It's a moment of promise, of joy, and of welcome, and we are so glad to have shared it with Charlie and John today.

Please join us in keeping them in your prayers as they begin this new chapter of faith. We are delighted to welcome them into the family of the Church.

Come as you are. All are welcome.

⚠️ Due to unforeseen circumstances, Choral Evensong at the Minster has had to be cancelled this evening. We're very sorry for any disappointment this causes, and we look forward to welcoming you to a future service. Thank you for your understanding.

🎙️ New podcast out now — "You Will Receive Power"
What happens when you're told to wait?

In this episode, Fr Simon is joined by Revd Liz, Revd Richard and Revd Jassica to explore the strange, expectant time between Ascension and Pentecost — when the disciples retreated to an upper room, devoted themselves to prayer, and waited for the gift Jesus had promised.

Together they reflect on Acts 1:6–14 and the transformation the Holy Spirit brought to a small, fearful group of followers who would go on to change the world. There are stories from a beautiful Ascension service at St Mary's, reflections on why public witness matters on the streets of Great Yarmouth today, and a look ahead to Pentecost Sunday at the Minster.
