Our service on Sunday centred on Commitment. Relecting on how committed are we to our Church? There are lots of ways we all help in church from making teas and coffee, prayer, a welcoming word to visitors or joining with the children. But the midweek meetings are just as important. On Sunday as part of our anniversary we recalled the story of Nehemiah- when he rebuilt the walls. As we read the words- it reminder us how ALL were involved. Different people and families took part and did the different parts of the building. A reminder that we all have a part to play. I am sure those people who first met together in Great Wakering in 1845 and shared together did not know that 182 years later we would be continuing to share God's love in the village.
