Today is Corpus Christi, when we give thanks for the Institution of the Holy Eucharist by Jesus at the Last Supper.

Jesus said “ I am the bread of life, whoever comes to me will never be hungry and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty”
John 6.35

We believe in a loving God
Whose word sustains our lives
And the work of our hands in the world
God is life
We believe in God's Son amongst us
Sowing the seed of life's renewal
He lived with the poor
To show the meaning of love
Jesus Christ is Lord.
We believe in the Holy Spirit
Making us one with God
Renewing our strength,
With Her own
The Spirit is love.

At Chester Cathedral at the moment there is the “Threads through the Bible “ exhibition. Textile artist Jacqui Parkinson has created 44 huge silk panels over a period of 10 years, from the Book of Genesis to Revelation. It is breathtaking

This Sunday is Trinity Sunday and there is a service of Holy Communion at 8.30 and a joint service with St Mark’s at 10.30.

Church Teas between 2.00 and 4.30 in the Parish Hall

A perfect afternoon at Arley Hall, in the Grove for Forest Church, sitting under the cedar tree, in the dappled sunlight was incredible. As it was Pentecost, bubbles were blown, wind was thought about and we gave thanks for all the beauty that surrounded us. We looked at everything that we could see growing. We also thought about bindweed and considered all the things in life that can stifle us and how we can let those things go so we can let the Holy Spirit work in our lives. We had a wonder wander round the Grove spotting all the amazing trees that have been planted over the years, before finishing with food and chatting. We also had a visit from a wandering minstrel with the replica of a Sutton hoo harp.
Counting our blessings

Happy Bank Holiday Weekend and Happy start of Half Term. Remember if you get too hot, it is always super cool inside St Mary's.

Tomorrow is Pentecost where we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit - so it is the church's birthday.

At St Mary's we have a service of Holy Communion at 10.30

At St Mark's there is all age worship with birthday cake and activities at 10.30

At 2.30 we have Forest Church at the Grove in Arley. If you park in the car park, someone will be there to give you a pass and direct you to the chapel. If you need to park closer, drive down to the chapel. We will be outside. It is soft underfoot in the Grove so wear suitable shoes and bring a chair as we are outside.. the theme is trees and bees and bubbles.

Church Teas are in the village hall at Great Budworth from 2.00 until 4.30

God of fire and beauty
Warm us
God of peace and justice,
Disturb us
God of wind and wonder
Amaze us
God of Pentecost
Kindle your love in our lives.

The light of God surrounds me
The love of God enfolds me
The power of God protects me
The presence of God watches over me
Wherever I am, God is

We thought you might like to follow our Associate Minister's day yesterday, from an early morning stop in Great Budworth to collect stuff, to the Classic Car run and breakfast, then onto St Marks for a later starting Communion service so everyone could wave at the cars, to a birthday lunch at the George, to teas in Church, finishing the day at Arley Chapel (with a football match in the middle Barnton ladies v Winsford Town ladies)

This evening at St Mary's we have our Annual church meeting where we look back on the past year and look towards the future. We elect Church wardens, PCC members and Deanery Synod reps. All are welcome
