Bookham Baptist Church

Bookham Baptist Church We are a Church for Bookham. Join us for Sunday gatherings and for our various activities throughout the week, including at our Children's Centre

Our Mission is to make Jesus known, so that others might discover life to the full and join the adventure of following him....

Growing together in the love of Jesus, we give our lives to see God’s reign of justice, mercy and peace coming in our homes, communities, workplaces and to the ends of the earth.

We hit pause on Ephesians and dove into a Puzzling Passage 🤔📖—kicking off our 5th Sunday series on the Bible’s toughest topics!

We explored Jonah and the whale 🐋… is it reasonable to take it at face value today? And could stories like this be stumbling blocks for those exploring faith?

On Pentecost Sunday, we continued our ‘A Letter to the Church’ series, diving into Ephesians 3:14–21 🔥, we reflected on Paul’s powerful prayer—that we would be strengthened through the Spirit 💨, grasp the depth of God’s love ❤️, and be filled with His fullness. We came expectant—believing God met us, filled us afresh, and is empowering us to be His people ✨

'This is the rich variety of God's Church expressing the rich variety of God's wisdom.' - Rev. Gill Campbell beautifully taking us through our next passage in our series 'A Letter to the Church' from Ephesians 3:1-13

This Sunday, we explored what the church really is—not just a building, but God’s plan being revealed through ordinary people 🙌

‘His (God’s) intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms.’ NIV Eph 3:10

💭 What does it look like for us to live that out… together?

“We are this one new humanity; we are the dwelling place of God.” 👀

Last week, we talked about how Jesus restores us (Eph. 2:1–10) — and this week we explored what that really means as found in Ephesians 2:11–22…
✨ Divides broken
✨ People united
✨ A new way to live

From welcoming someone new… to transforming lives across the world 🌍 — we’re all part of this ministry of reconciliation.

"That is grace." Neil tells us that grace is gift from God to us. Overwhelming. Benevolent. Beyond our means. And so much more.

As we continued our exploration of the Letter to the Ephesians yesterday, we found ourselves at the beginning of Chapter 2 with Paul writing with urgency. It’s as if he has taken a deep breath and then downloaded his stream of consciousness full of the truth he wants us to know and understand. If we get our heads and hearts around this big stuff - and Paul wants us to do just that - then it will be life changing.
