This , we’re giving thanks for everyone who helps children, young people, and families feel welcome, safe, and part of church life.

From toddler groups and family worship to youth groups and school links, snacks, and setup, your enthusiasm and hard work matter. Thank you for living Christ’s story with the next generation.

It was a lovely day yesterday when Maddison brought along her parents Sam & Robin with friends and family for her baptism (admittedly she can’t drive herself as she is only 5 months old!) They all didn’t fit in the selfie. Congratulations to Maddison as she begins her journey in God’s family with support from parents, Godparents, family, friends and the Church family. 😇

Cafe Church begins with refreshments at 4 o'clock today. Worship from 4:30 when Raj Saha will help us think about How we use Technology from a Christian perspective and consider 'is technology our Master or our Servant?' Looking forward to seeing you.

Despite the weather we will today remember the life of G Morley Fidler; Squadron Leader and son of Great Ayton. The service begins at 12:30 to coincide with the full military burial service in France. We will start with a short remembrance service outside at the War Memorial with The Last Post, 2 minutes silence and reveille . Then the service continues inside the church where Morley was baptised in 1912 as a babe in arms. All are invited to attend and show their support and respect to the bravery of this Airman and those who still serve in the Forces.

Have you had your birthday invite yet? There’s a few streets still to do, but whether you have had a card or not you are invited to the beginning of the 150th birthday celebrations for Christ Church. Wednesday May 20th at 5pm is the short family service in Christ church, to remember the first time it was used when it was newly built. Bring a picnic and after the service we will celebrate together outside on the grass or inside in the hall if it’s raining ☔️. Regardless of the weather ☀️you will be welcome as we celebrate 150 years of the building serving the community.

Following the discovery and identification of the remains of Squadron Leader G M Fidler we are holding a memorial service to coincide with his military burial in France. Tuesday 19th May 12:30pm at Christ Church, beginning outside at the War Memorial and then continuing inside the church. All residents and friends of the village are invited to attend this service as we remember and honour this son of Great Ayton.

God of hosts,
who so kindled the flame of love
in the heart of your servant George
that he bore witness to the risen Lord
by his life and by his death:
give us the same faith and power of love
that we who rejoice in his triumphs
may come to share with him
the fullness of the resurrection;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
