Just a reminder that we will be having our Christmas Farmers’ Market this Thursday, 4th December from 10.00 am – midday. We have a few extra stalls this time, including a honey stallholder, Anne Marie, Florist from Dunchurch with Christmas wreaths and Greenacres Farm from Staverton. The Church stall will have home baked Christmas cakes and mince pies. Come along and purchase or order some of your Christmas food from our variety of stallholders. Complementary mulled wine, alcoholic and non alcoholic will also be available.

There will also be an opportunity for you to drop off any donations you may have for the Rugby Foodbank. Alternatively, you will be able to drop them off at the church on Saturday 6th between 10.00 and 4.00 or on Sunday 7th in the morning.

We had to do a video as part of getting a grant from the National Lottery on the restoration of the Reredos. This is a very informative video and well worth watching (it is just over 5 minutes long). This is shown separately on Grandborough New and Views

A huge thank-you to everyone in the village whose support helped make this project happen and our thanks to the National Lottery Heritage Fund for their generous support. Hope you enjoy it.

Donations for Rugby Foodbank

As you will see from the calendar below, Rugby Foodbank is inviting everyone to take part in their Reverse Advent Calendar initiative.
Instead of receiving something each day, this special calendar encourages giving — highlighting essential food and household items urgently needed to support local families facing food insecurity over the festive season.

Add one item each day, and then deliver to the collection point which is convenient for you. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps bring hope and practical support to our community this Christmas.

You can drop your donations off at St Peter’s Church, Grandborough, on Sunday 30th November, Thursday 4th December (Farmers’ Market), or Sunday 7th December. Alternatively, you can deliver to Rugby Foodbank in time for distribution for Christmas.😀

A special thank you to all the ladies in the village who have helped to create the wonderful poppy display which has now been assembled at the memorial at St Peter's Church. Many of them have been busy knitting poppies for the last few months in readiness for Remembrance.😀

Harvest Festival, Buffet Supper

You are invited to join us at our Harvest Festival on Sunday 14th September at 6.00 pm, followed by a Buffet Supper. If you would like to donate some harvest produce for Rugby Foodbank this will be much appreciated. Please note the Rugby Foodbank does not need any beans or pasta as they already have plenty. Fresh fruit and vegetables will be much appreciated.

To make catering easier, it would be helpful if you could let me know if you intend to come. However, this is not essential.

Everyone is welcome and there is no charge. Hope to see some of you on Sunday.

Farmers Market

Good Afternoon Everyone

Just a reminder that, once again, it is time for Farmers’ Market this coming Thursday from 10.00 am until midday. Hope some of you can come along and join us. Unfortunately, Sue, our Jam Lady for the 13 years we have been running the market, is no longer able to come along as she is unable to drive and has, rather reluctantly, said she is happy for us to find another stallholder to take her place. I am pleased to say we have a replacement and, would you believe, she too is also called Sue, and will be joining us in the future.

We are having our Harvest Supper at St Peter’s on Sunday 14th September and would be delighted if you could come and join us. The service will be at 6.00 pm with a buffet supper after. Although we do not need numbers, it would be helpful if you could let me know if you think you are likely to attend.

We will also be accepting donations for the Rugby Foodbank at this time and a list of essentials are attached. If you are unable to come to the supper, you can drop items off at the church on Friday or Saturday 12th and 13 September. Alternatively, you can hand in any items at the market this Thursday, 4th September.😀
