✨ Lent Digital Kindness Drive – Celebrating Everyday Heroes ✨

This Lent, we’re celebrating the people who see a need — and quietly step forward to meet it. Today, we give thanks for our Men’s Ministry, led by Chris Williams, our church warden.
Chris recognised something important: the need for men to have a safe, welcoming space to come together. A place to share life’s ups and downs, to speak openly, to support one another — and to grow in faith together.

That vision has begun to take shape in a beautiful way. At their first gathering — a men’s breakfast — stories were shared across generations, with honest conversations about life, faith, and the journeys that shape us. There was space to be heard, to listen, and to connect.

And of course, fellowship was at the heart of it all. This warm, welcoming atmosphere for everyone is more than just a gathering. It’s the building of community. It’s encouragement, honesty, and faith lived out together.
We’re so grateful to Chris, Ritchie (for cooking an amazing breakfast) and everyone involved for creating and holding this space — a place where men can belong, grow, and support one another. 💙

Thursday 2nd April - Maundy Thursday

Family meal (bring and share): Gather for a meal at 6:30pm, St Mary’s just as the disciples did on the eve of Jesus' crucifixion.
Bring some food to add to the table and share from what has been brought (please avoid bringing food containing nuts).
Being forgiven: the meal ends with the chance to say sorry to God and receive God's forgiveness. There's the option of foot washing as we remember Jesus washing his disciples’ feet at the Last Supper, teaching us to serve one another. Bring a towel!

7:30pm, St Mary’s: after sharing Holy Communion, our time concludes by reading Psalm 22 aloud together. When the altar has been stripped of adornments, we stop reading, even if mid sentence, to remember the sudden nature of Jesus’ arrest, and we leave quietly into the night.

✨ **Lent Charity Event – Standing with Ukraine** ✨

Next week marks four years since Ukraine was invaded. Four years on, so many of God’s precious people remain displaced from their homes, separated from loved ones, and living with uncertainty and fear.

As a church community, we want to respond with prayer, compassion, and practical support.

Join us for a special charity sing-along to a beloved family classic film about a family fleeing tyranny and becoming refugees. It’s a powerful reminder that the refugee story is not new — even Jesus was a refugee.

All proceeds will go to the British Red Cross Ukraine Appeal, helping provide vital aid to those affected by conflict.

Come along. Bring your family. Sing your heart out.
Let’s raise our voices — and funds — in hope and solidarity. ❤️
