St Mary's Annual Marian Procession was held on the last Sunday of May. We were blessed with a beautiful weather, and the procession along the High Street was a great testament of our Catholic faith shared within our community in Gosport. The praying of the Rosary and the Marian hymns made the event even more meaningful as we showed our deep reverence and honour to the Mother of our Lord.

We thank all our parishioners, especially those who helped with the preparations in making this event a success. Thank you also to those who brought food to share in the parish hall.

Thank You to Our Volunteers

As we celebrate Volunteers' Week, we extend our thanks to all who generously give their time, their talents, and energy in service to our parish. Whether visible or behind the scenes, your contribution helps make St Mary's a welcoming and vibrant community.

Many will remember our Tree of Hope, which later became our Tree of Peace, and Tree of Prayer. This time, it has been transformed once again into our Tree of Volunteers, adorned with hearts bearing the names and roles of our parish volunteers. It stands as a tribute to those whose dedication and service help our parish flourish.

Thank you for all that you do. Your generosity is deeply appreciated, and you remain in our prayers.

09 June 2026 – Feast of St Columba (Colum Cille), Abbot and Missionary

Feast: St Columba, Abbot, Missionary. Columba, also known as Colum Cille, was born in Gartan, County Donegal in 521 and was of royal lineage. He studied under Finnian of Moville and Finnian of Clonard. He founded monasteries in Derry, Durrow, Iona and possibly Kells. From Iona, which became his principal foundation, missionaries undertook the conversion of Northumbria. Colum Cille is noted for his love for people and for all living creatures. He died in 597.

Diocesan Prayer today is for the Community of St Columba in Bridgemary and also for members of the Knights of St Columba.

Dear Friends

We have some big news to share: 14 Catholic bishops are scheduled to attend this year's annual March for Life UK. Yes, you read that correctly – FOURTEEN!!!
It is hard to think of another event or cause that receives this level of support from the hierarchy of the Church. Their presence demonstrates the primary importance that the Church places on this key and fundamental issue.
If you are a Catholic, please make every effort to come along and support your bishops. If you are from another Christian denomination, please consider inviting any spiritual leaders you know to attend. It is vital that Christians are united in recognising the damage abortion causes and in speaking up for the women and men who are too often misled about both the value of life in the womb and the illusory solution that abortion is presented as providing.

We would also encourage you to invite your priests, pastors, church leaders, and youth leaders. Together, we can send a clear message that we are united in saying: "Abortion Hurts the Family" – this year's March for Life theme.

May 31 is Holy Trinity Sunday. We celebrate the mystery that God is one in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, living in perfect communion and love.

May 31 is also the last day of the Month of Mary, who stands before us as the disciple whose "fiat" welcomed that divine movement completely. In her life, we see the Father's favour, the Son's presence, and the Spirit's power.

Please join us for a Marian procession after the 11:15am Mass. We will pray the Rosary as we contemplate the life of Jesus and His mother, Mary. We will then proceed with Flores de Mayo as we offer flowers on the foot of the image of Our Lady.

Refreshments will follow in the parish hall.
