St Mary's Church, Gomersal

St Mary's Church, Gomersal St Mary the Blessed Virgin Church is a welcoming, friendly church for all ages. Come along and join us! It has a neo-Gothic Tower and steeply roofed nave.

St Mary’s Church was built in 1851 by John Dobson of Leeds. It was completely refurbished internally in 2003 and as a consequence is a superb warm modern building for the exceptionally good and meaningful worship which takes place on Sundays and midweek. Mary Taylor, friend of Charlotte Bronte is buried in the Churchyard and the headstone reads Mary Taylor of High Royd, Gomersal. Born February 20 1817, died March 1 1895.
