📣**NEW EVENT** - GODALMING PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL ORGAN COMPETITION
MONDAY 3rd MARCH, 4.40 - 9.30pm
ST PETER & ST PAUL'S CHURCH, GODALMING, GU7 1EW
🎹On Monday there's a great opportunity to hear the magnificent Hill organ at St Peter & St Paul's Church played by 21 organists who've entered the Godalming Performing Arts Festival's Organ Competition.
🎵Everyone's welcome, and for only a £4 entry fee you can stay for as many performances as you like (you may be asked to wait at the back of the church until a performance has ended if you arrive during one). Come for the wonderful music, and show your support for the entrants. With a record number this year, you might hear a future Cathedral organist! The adjudicator, Jonathan Hope was a former entrant and is now the Principal Organist and Assistant Director of Music at Gloucester Cathedral!
🏆 This year we've also introduced the John Belcher Cup which will be awarded for the best performance of a piece by JS Bach. The trophy honours John's dedication to encouraging the next generation of organists, running the competition for many years and only retiring at the end of 2023 from his role as organist of St Peter & St Paul's after 27 years' service.
