The Parish Church bells will be rung again!

A ringing practice evening is to be held on the first Wednesday of each calendar month from 7.30 to 9pm.

New and returning ringers, to form a local band, will be most welcome for which supporting practice will take place at St Lawrence CofE, Barnwood on each Friday evening 6pm to 7pm.

Non-ringers are also welcome to come along and see what it takes to ring the bells.

Stuck for something to do this weekend why not head over to the village hall between 1.30pm and 3.30pm on Sunday (2nd) and join in the Upton St Leonards Gnome Hunt! £4 per map, Pushchair friendly, refreshments, prizes and raffle! All funds are split between Cheltenham and Gloucester charity FOCUS and the Church. Look forward to seeing you.

Join together in prayer
Join Bishop Rachel and many others across our Diocese next Thursday 5 May, at the launch of our vision process at Gloucester Cathedral, with a day of prayer. All are welcome to attend and drop in at any point between 11am-8.30pm. Throughout the day there will be opportunities for prayer in different traditions. Find out more http://bit.ly/2367aQU

The PCC had a meeting yesterday which resulted in the discussion of what the Upton St Leonards community want, need and would like to understand about what happens at church.

We need your help to understand the following questions which have been proposed by the Diocese of Gloucester.

1. What is your hope or vision for your local community in the next five years?
2. How might the Church be part of this?
3. What is your impression of the Church of England in your local community?

The idea behind this is to provide services/events what will be of benefit to the community. It will also enable the PCC to allocate our resources effectively to support the running of the Church.

For many years we have been supporting the Gloucester foodbank appeal. If you wish to donate the church is open on Fridays between 6-6.30pm. There is also a donation box in the village shop and Post Office. They are looking for the following:
+ Long-life fruit juice
+ Tinned cold meats
+ Small jars of coffee
+ Packets of Pasta'N'Sauce
+ Bottles of Squash
+ Tinned spaghetti
+ Tinned potatoes
+ Cup-a-soup
+ Tinned custard
+ Toilet rolls
+ Soap
+ Shampoo
+ Shower gel
+ Toothpaste
+ Single toothbrushes
+ Disposable razors
