St Barnabas, Gloucester

St Barnabas, Gloucester Sharing the Good News of Jesus St Barnabas serves the Tuffley, White City and Robinswood areas on the south side of the city of Gloucester.

We are a small but growing (in every way!) church family with a passion for Jesus, for prayer and for our city. Our church family is made up of all sorts of people, some who have had faith for a long time and others who are exploring. Like most communities at the moment, we are seeking out new ways to live life together during the Coronavirus outbreak. We believe that prayer changes things - inclu

ding ourselves! We also believe that each person has gifts to offer and a part of play in seeing our communities and our city transformed into places where everyone is able to live life in all its fullness. We believe in a loving God,
The Father and Creator who created all that is. The Son, Jesus, who shows us the way, the truth and the life
The Holy Spirit, living and active, transforming lives, bringing peace, healing, wholeness and power. Want to get connected or find out more? Don’t hesitate to get in touch. Private message the page or contact our Vicar Sarah on 07534 720160.

Re:Creation – God’s Repair Shop

Autumn is a season when we often think about creation; the world God has made, the gifts we have received, and our responsibility to care for them well.

However creation is not simply something “out there”. We are part of God’s creation too. Our lives, relationships, communities and the world around us are all caught up in God’s work of renewal.

Inspired by "The Repair Shop", our next five-week series starting this Sunday explores how God restores what is damaged, brings balance where things have become distorted, reconnects what has become separated, helps us imagine new possibilities, and teaches us to celebrate his goodness with gratitude and generosity.

ReStore – repairing what has been damaged

ReBalance – finding healthier rhythms and priorities

ReConnect – renewing our relationship with God, one another and creation

ReImagine – seeing new possibilities with hope

ReCelebrate – Harvest – The Man with Too Much Stuff
Receive with thanks. Share with joy.

Let's discover again that we are part of God’s good creation; loved, restored and called to share in his work of renewal.

We always advise caution around any unusual emails you might receive as unfortunately there are all sorts of scams out there. Please be aware that someone using the email [email protected] but the name of our Vicar Sarah, is asking for people to buy gift cards from Amazon. Sarah will never ever ask anyone to send money, vouchers or anything else for her or for the church's mission and ministry. Please pray for all affected …

We are devastated by the serious incident that took place at Big Church Festival 2026 today, in which a sign fell, injuring at least seven people, one of whom tragically lost their life.

First and foremost, all of our thoughts are with those who have been affected, their families and friends, and everyone who witnessed what happened.

Following today’s incident, we have made the decision to bring Big Church Festival 2026 to a close.

For all future updates, please visit our website.

🌈 It's a Baptism Sunday at St Barnabas – everyone welcome! 🌈

This Sunday we come to the final week of our summer series, Big Promises from a Big God, with perhaps one of the biggest promises of all:

❤️ “Nothing can separate us from the love of God.”
Romans 8:38–39

10.30 am – Holy Communion with the Baptism
We’ll worship together with children and young people (3 plus) invited to meet in the chapel space, share Communion and celebrate with Eliana and her family as she is baptised; a beautiful reminder that God calls us, holds us and promises never to let us go. Activities for our 0-2 year olds in the Snug! Just ask for directions.

11.45am – Cuppa, chat & welcome to Eliana
Stay afterwards and help us continue the celebration!

5.30pm – Evensong in the Chapel
A peaceful, traditional service of Book of Common Prayer Evensong to close the day.

Whether church is very familiar, you haven’t been for a while, or Sunday would be your first time, you are very welcome. Contact the page if you would like someone to meet you.

Big Promises from a Big God: Nothing can separate. ❤️
