"At 74, here's something I wish I'd learned at 24."

You don't need everybody to approve of you.

I spent years worrying about what others thought.

The older I get, the more I realise that people are too busy worrying about themselves.

Live your life.

Do your best.

Treat people well.

Then let the rest go.

What would you tell your 24-year-old self?

It amazes me that military veterans can survive inspections, pressure and chaos…

…but losing the TV remote can still destroy an entire household. 😂

You suddenly see fully grown adults turning cushions upside down like it’s a national emergency.

Everybody becomes a detective.

“Who had it last?”
“Check under the chair!”
“Try the kitchen!”

Meanwhile the remote is usually sitting in plain sight the whole time. 😄

But honestly, life’s funny like that.

We handle massive problems surprisingly well…
yet tiny inconveniences can completely test our patience.

Maybe because it’s never really about the remote.

Usually we’re already stressed, tired, overloaded or mentally full.

And one tiny thing pushes us over the edge.

That’s why grace matters.
With other people…
and with ourselves.

Most people aren’t angry about the remote.
They’re exhausted from life. 😂

👇 What tiny everyday thing frustrates you far more than it probably should?

“People think a minister’s job is to keep church members happy.
Wrong.

A minister isn’t called to entertain crowds.
He’s called to tell the truth—even when truth makes people uncomfortable.

The prophets weren’t popular.
Jesus wasn’t safe.
Paul wasn’t politically correct.

Some ministers lost their voice trying to avoid offending people.
But truth that never challenges you…
will never change you.”

“Do you think churches today need more comfort… or more truth? Drop your thoughts in the comments.”
Better still repost and share this.

"Mission Is Not A Place. It's A Lifestyle."

Mission Isn't Somewhere Else

For many people, mission is something that happens somewhere else.

Another country.
Another city.
Another project.

But when Jesus walked the earth, most of His ministry happened in ordinary places:

on roads
in homes
by the sea
around tables
in workplaces

Mission isn't always crossing an ocean.

Sometimes it's crossing the street.

Your neighbourhood is a mission field.
Your workplace is a mission field.
Your family is a mission field.
Your social media is a mission field.

Every day God places people in our path for a reason.

Perhaps mission is closer than we think.

Question:
Where has God placed you to make a difference today?

4. The Richest People I Knew Had Very Little

We didn't have central heating.

No double glazing.

No mobile phones.

No internet.

No television until I was nearly nine.

By today's standards we had very little.

Yet somehow we seemed happier than many people today.

I've spent a lot of time thinking about why.

One lesson from my childhood still shapes how I see success.

I'll share that lesson soon.

Question:
Do you think we're better off today than we were 50 years ago?

17️⃣ “Church Beyond Tradition”

Traditions can be valuable and meaningful.

But at the heart of church has always been people gathering around faith, hope, prayer, and community.

As we move into a new chapter, we are asking:
How can we build community in ways that genuinely meet people where they are today?

“What do you think people need most from churches today?”

2. The Most Valuable Skill I Learned Wasn't Taught In School

I learned maths.

I learned English.

I learned science.

But the most valuable skill I've ever used wasn't taught by any teacher.

I learned it helping my mother raise five younger brothers.

It's a skill that has served me in the military, business, ministry, marriage, and life.

Strange how life's greatest lessons often come from unexpected places.

Question:
What's the most valuable lesson you learned outside a classroom?

“Attendance Isn’t Transformation”

“Going to church every week doesn’t automatically change your life.

Just like going to a gym doesn’t make you fit.

Transformation requires honesty.
Growth.
Healing.
Community.
Action.

Some people have attended church for 20 years…
Yet still live exhausted, angry, disconnected and without peace.

Why?

Because church was never meant to be something you consume.
It was meant to shape how you live every day.

Faith was never supposed to stop at Sunday morning.”

“Do you think modern church creates disciples… or just attendees?”
