A new week has begun.

There will be opportunities you haven't seen yet, conversations you weren't expecting, and blessings waiting in places you've not looked.

Sometimes we miss the beauty around us because we're so busy looking down at our problems.

Today...
Lift your eyes.

God is already at work before you even arrive.

1. Look Up – A New Week Begins

The start of a new week is full of possibilities.

None of us knows what lies ahead. There will be challenges, opportunities, unexpected conversations and moments that could change everything.

But sometimes we miss all the beauty surrounding us because we're constantly looking down—at our worries, our disappointments, our endless to-do lists.

Today, pause for a moment.

Look up.

Notice the sky.
Listen to the birds.
Take a deep breath.
Remember that every sunrise is a reminder that God specialises in new beginnings.

Whatever last week looked like...
This week hasn't been written yet.

Walk into it with hope.

Today is often called the Lord's Day because, as a church family, we gather together to worship on a Sunday.

But let's remember something important...

Every day is the Lord's day.

Our faith was never meant to be confined to a church building, a Sunday morning, or a particular time of the week. It is woven into the very fabric of who WE are.

It should be part of our DNA.

Whether we're at work, at home, out walking, shopping, enjoying time with family, or helping a neighbour, we have the opportunity to reflect the love, grace, and hope of Christ.

We don't simply go to church—we ARE the Church.

So as we gather today to worship together, may it inspire us to live for Him tomorrow, and every day that follows.

Have a blessed Lord's Day... and an equally blessed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

"Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus." — Colossians 3:17

The Church Exists for Those Who Aren't There Yet

It's easy to become focused on looking after the people already sitting in the pews.

But Jesus continually looked beyond the crowd.

He noticed the overlooked.

The lonely.

The struggling.

The searching.

Healthy churches care deeply for one another.

Great churches also keep making room for those who haven't arrived yet.

Every conversation.

Every act of kindness.

Every invitation.

Every helping hand...

is part of the mission.

Who could you encourage this week with a simple act of kindness?

Sometimes consistency means knowing when to pause.

Over the past 10 days I haven't posted anything.

Not because I'd run out of ideas.
Not because I'd lost interest.

Simply because life demanded my attention elsewhere.

With family away, I've been managing everything at home, caring for our elderly dog, looking after my daughter's horse, keeping the household running, alongside my usual work, church commitments, the garden and the everyday responsibilities that many of us balance.

I'm not looking for sympathy. Most people have busy lives, and many carry far heavier loads than mine.

But it reminded me of something important.

We often see people's highlights, achievements and consistency online. What we don't always see are the days when they're simply doing their best to keep everything moving.

As someone who spends much of my time encouraging others with their wellbeing, this was a timely reminder that we're all human.

Sometimes the strongest thing we can do isn't to keep pushing—it's to recognise when we need to pause, reset, and then continue.

So, I'm back.

Thank you to everyone who continues to follow, engage and support what I share. I hope that if life has felt a little overwhelming for you recently, this reminds you that it's okay to take a breath, refocus and keep moving forward.

Missed worship service yesterday.
Yes even preachers get sick.😓🥴
Over the weekend I was suffering from a type of vertigo caused by an inner ear infection. Taking medication for this and beginning to feel better now.
Hate the dizzy feeling every time you moved.
Nothing new there as the family already have that impression that I am "dizzy".😄😅😂

A thought for the future.

"We don't just read the Bible—we step into its world so we can live more faithfully in ours."

Over time, people would begin to recognise that whenever they came to church, they weren't simply going to hear another sermon—they were going to step into the world of the Bible, discover something they had never noticed before, and leave asking not just, "What did Jesus say?" but also, "Why did He say it that way, and how should it shape my life this week?"

This is my passion as we move forward.

A Fish Taught Me More Than A Business Book

I've been fly fishing most of my life.

Over the years I've realised something.

Fish and people aren't that different.

The harder you chase them, the faster they disappear.

The lesson I learned standing in rivers applies equally to business, relationships, leadership, and life.

Who knew a trout could be such a good teacher?

Over 74 years I've made some good decisions.

And some terrible ones.

But one of the best investments I ever made didn't cost a penny.

It wasn't property.

It wasn't shares.

It wasn't a business.

Yet it has paid dividends for decades.
