Glenboig Kirk Room avail for small groups, message this page Gartcosh is the only church building in a village and parish of 3400 (based on analysis of the 2011 Census) that has seen rapid growth in the last 10 years, with new houses being b

uilt on former farmland, an industrial site, and a hospital estate among others. There is also a new business park being constructed on the site of the old steelworks. The railway station was reopened in 2005. While the only church building, the local RC Parish is St Barbara's in Muirhead, and formerly there was a Scottish Episcopal congregation, St Andrews, which was closed and demolished, with the Church of St Paul and St John the Evangelist, Monklands (in Airdrie) serving the local area. Glenboig is one of three Churches (the others being Glenboig Christian Fellowship, and Our Lady & St Joseph's Catholic Church) in a village of 2900 (based on analysis of 2011 Census) that has also seen rapid growth in recent years. Again its new builds have been on farmland, and on the site of the old brickworks. Both parishes include several distinct communities:
Gartcosh Parish includes Mount Ellen and Gartloch Village as well as estates and areas within the village proper: Redrow, Wilsons, Bellway,

Glenboig Parish is formed of Annathill (Bedlay), Greenfoot, Marnoch, Ramoan as well as the original village (sometimes called Garnqueen) and newer estates like Redrow and Barratt.

“In the morning, prayer is the key that opens to us the treasures of God’s mercies and blessings; in the evening, it is the key that shuts us up under His protection and safeguard.

If Jesus felt that He had to pray, how much more do we need to pray?”

― Billy Graham

Amen.
