The Glastonbury Unity Candle

The Glastonbury Unity Candle Lighting the world - one Unity candle at a time. Why blue?

If you would like your organisation or event to have the Candle in attendance, contact us - [email protected]

In its familiar lantern, the Unity Candle is taken out onto the land in ceremonies of all kinds, attends churches, temples and other sacred venues, weddings, anniversaries, baby-namings, christenings, funerals, talks, workshops, conferences, festivals and concerts. Each host lights

the Candle in a way that is appropriate to them so they are personally and energetically engaged in the physical process of igniting the light. Being pro-actively involved, reminds us that our individual thoughts and deeds are a vital and integral part of the whole and that only by co-evolving with one another, and with nature, in a constructive and coherent relationship, can we contribute towards creating a better future for all of humanity. In many cultures and beliefs, blue is seen as a very sacred colour and represents faith, devotion, peace, inner knowledge, love, tranquillity and harmony.

As we hold the world in our hearts tonight, let us remember this ancient Sanskrit blessing: May all beings be happy. May all beings be free from suffering. May all know peace. Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.
