This week we are reading the prophetic books of Joel and Habakkuk. Books which speak of the Day of the Lord and God’s response to the darkness of this world. Ultimately, these are books of hope in the plans and purposes of our God.

We’re continuing to read 1 Corinthians in our Community Bible Reading. A letter for messy people navigating a messy world. The answer to the mess is the cross of Jesus, the resurrection of Jesus, and the church of Jesus. We believe the Bible is the book which makes sense of this messy and often miserable world. If you want to find out more, get in touch! We’d love to start reading with you!

Groups meet in the Merchant City at 6:30 on Wednesdays, and in Maryhill at 7:30 on Thursdays.

In our Community Bible Reading, we have been looking at the book of Leviticus. A book which asks the question - who can come into God’s presence? Or, as Psalm 24 puts it, who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?

Our sin means that we cannot come near to God. But the good news of the gospel is that Jesus is our great high priest who brings us into God’s presence. Because he died on the cross as our substitute, we can come to God’s throne of grace.

Who can ascend the mountain of the Lord? Only Jesus. But in him, he brings his people up the mountain with him into the throne room of heaven.

Would you like to know what that’s like - knowing God? Or, would you like to find out more about Leviticus and other books of the Bible? Get in touch - we’d love to meet you!

Where is your hope?

Jesus is the resurrection and the life. I him is a hope that will survive the darkest day.
