Whoever holds the keys in any organisation holds the power to open doors or keep them shut.

Growing churches don’t hoard keys. They practise keychain leadership:
🔑 Not clinging to power
🔑 Not just “loaning” small tasks
🔑 But *entrusting real responsibility* and opening doors for others to serve

This isn’t a business strategy. It’s a biblical model of discipleship.

Where might God be asking you to pass on some keys?

In Orchardlea, most of our voices are over 50. We see the gaps: the ages and stages missing from our pews. We could shrug and say, “That’s just the way it is.” Or… we could take action.

This week we began exploring 6 core commitments of growing churches, starting with “Unlock Keychain Leadership.”

God is not done with Orchardlea. Decline may be the national story, but it does not have to be ours.

Today we gave thanks for the young people in our community.
We said that our young people learn what God’s love is by experiencing it:
A leader who listens
A grandparent who prays
A volunteer who gives up an evening
A friend who makes space at their table
Thank you to everyone who serves, prays, and gives. You are showing Jesus to the next generation.

Can't make church on Sunday? Come and join us at the Merrylee building for our short act of worship at 1pm this Thursday. We spend around 30 minutes together in worship and then enjoy some hot drinks and sweet treats after. All are welcome, we would love to see you! Bring a friend!
