This morning begins the season of Creationtide. At Hillhead Baptist Church we begin a series on how faith and science intersect. We are blessed with postgraduate students in our congregation, passionate about science and faith.

Today Isaac, from Ghana to Glasgow, shared with us how his faith informs his science and how his scientific study strengthens his faith.

- Pay attention
- Science asks How; Faith asks why.
- We study what is created, God is the one who creates what we study.

Such a pleasure to hear the diversity of voices and experiences in our congregation.

Ephesians 6:24

Our first minister Rev. Robarts preached this message of grace in the very first sermon of our community 143 years ago. He suggested it become the motto for our community.

We revisited the text last week as we considered how its message is still as relevant to us now as it was then.

Same message across the years. Different Bible versions. Different translations. Different languages. God's grace remains the same.

As we begin to look to the start of a new school year, we considered what it means to live as Covenant people: in covenant with each other and in covenant with God. We wrote promises to ourselves, our community and to God and placed them on the altar. Then we looked at Ruth Chapter 1 as we reflected on what journeying together theough life could look like.
