We were delighted to host our Interfaith Community Iftar at Minhaj-ul-Quran International Glasgow, bringing together friends and neighbours from different faiths and backgrounds to share in the spirit of Ramadan.

This event reflects our ongoing commitment to building bridges, fostering understanding, and promoting dialogue across Glasgow’s diverse communities.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our guests Dr Adrees, Rev Duncan Peters, Councillor Janine Calikes, and Councillor Andrea Cowan for their insightful reflections, and to Mohammed Ameen for joining us.

During the evening, Allama Shahid Babar and Dr Adrees presented Councillor Janine Calikes and Councillor Andrea Cowan with a copy of the Manifest Qur’an as a gesture of friendship and appreciation. The sweets they brought along were a huge hit with all attendees!

This gathering was a wonderful reminder of the power of shared hospitality, dialogue, and interfaith cooperation. Minhaj-ul-Quran Glasgow remains committed to hosting events that bring communities together, celebrate our shared values, and promote peace and understanding. ✨

Assalamu Alaikum,

Taraweeh prayer will take place today at 8:30PM.

As we gather for worship, we kindly remind all attendees to be considerate towards our neighbours and the wider community.

Please ensure that:

You do not park on any double yellow lines around the centre.

You do not park on the main Greenhill Road, in order to ensure that the flow of traffic is not impacted.

All instructions given by volunteers are followed.

There is ample parking available in the shopping centre car park opposite the mosque, which charges 50 pence for 2 hours (cash and card accepted). You may also register for automated payment via https://hozah.com/, allowing you to park without the need to make manual payment each visit.

After the prayers, please leave quietly and keep noise to a minimum.

We also request that you take your water bottles with you for recycling to help maintain the cleanliness of the mosque.

Let us uphold the values of Ramadan through patience, respect, and consideration for others.

English translation of Irfan ul Quran by His Eminence Shaykh ul Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri featured in the Islamic World gallery at the British Museum London, England (established in 1753 and renowned as one of the world’s greatest museums of history, art, and culture).

The Islamic World collections include Qur’anic manuscripts dating as early as the eighth century, Ottoman and Persian calligraphy, legal texts, works of philosophy and science, and manuscripts from various regions. Within these collections is a significant body of Sufi material.

Among the items displayed in the section on Sufism is a contemporary work: The Glorious Qur’an, the English translation by His Eminence Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. Positioned alongside centuries-old manuscripts, it represents the continuation of Qur’anic scholarship and translation in the modern era.
