During our service today we prayed for peace on our streets, an end to violence and discrimination of all kinds and for those who feel unsafe in our community.

A guided reflection has been created to help us consider what it means for Glasgow to flourish, especially in light of what is happening just now. If you'd like a copy, please email us or drop us a message so we can send you a copy.

Our church is family. Everyone is welcome here. We are not perfect, but Jesus is. And we do our best to love like him. What affects any of us affects all of us. We pray God's peace rules our streets. And our hearts.

The Parkhead Corps Bake Off winner! Kirsty and her Victoria Sponge cake which was judged to be light, fluffy and full of flavour. The fruit was fresh and delicious. It was a tough competition with a very worthy winner.

Rumour is the cake went missing after the competition and no one has admitted to seeing it since (but the corps officer won't tell us what she had for breakfast!) 🤣

As you settle in for the football tonight, have you considered how football and faith can both be part of who we are? How do our interests enable our frontline mission?

Check out this article from the Salvationist this week:

Captain Amy-Jo Battersby encourages us to be courageous and open about our faith.

🌟 Reminder! Evangeline’s Coffee Morning is tomorrow 🌟
We’re looking forward to welcoming you for a wonderful morning of fellowship, treats, and support as we cheer on Evangeline in her journey toward William Booth College and officership.
Your presence means so much — come along, enjoy a cuppa (+ a traybake), and help us encourage her as she prepares for this next exciting chapter.

Last Sunday was our breakfast prayers. In addition to the awesome food, we spent time praying for people who are going through change. And praying that God creates a beautiful new thing in among that change.
Canvasses were made with our collective prayers. Each unique. Each beautiful. And of course... Made with all the personality of the creators. Just like we are made in the image of God.

Breakfast prayers takes a break in July but returns on the first Sunday in August.

Last week our wonderful neighbours at the wash house allotment presented Rachael with some of the lettuce they have grown for us to use at our drop in.
It meant our sandwiches we give for free along with soup on a Thursday we're made with fresh lettuce, grown right on our door step (literally!).

Thank you to the amazing growers who tended the plants with such care and grace so generously. ♥️

Some of our Young People received their prizes after a year working hard through Sunday school and other discipleship opportunities.

We give thanks for every single young person he has blessed our church with. This YP annual was very special and we had such a great time of worship together.

You know me
You love me
So fill me
And send me
To SHINE

Our whole corps sang and did actions together this weekend as we celebrated the wonderful gift of our young people!

Some of our young people even led us on the actions ♥️

Yesterday we took time out to explore God's creation together as a church. Our Corps trip on this, our 140th anniversary year, was to Five Sisters Zoo.

We enjoyed a fantastic day out with friends and family. Spent time exploring the zoo itself. Enjoyed lunch together. Shared the story of creation with each other (and everyone around us!). Brought bits of creation to thank God for our selves and saw so many different animals all made by God.
