Repentance is not just remorse. It is not simply resolve. It is not just a promise to do better. It is not just reform or trying to do better. It is not behaviour modification. It is not even regret. And it is definitely not perfection.
Repentance is redirection. It is returning to God. Turning to God by trusting in Christ.
II Chronicles 7:14
If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Repentance is toward God not ourselves. It is turning to God by the power of Christ.
Repentance is to change your mind. To change the heart.
One can't repent without believing. .
It is Godly sorrow that produces Repentance.
