Our King's Badge Parade and Certificate Presentation took place yesterday evening, giving the Boys' Brigade another opportunity to showcase the work that our young people are involved in as part of the organisation. King's Badge Recipients from across the Battalion and others from local Battalions who had attended our Completion Residential were invited along to receive their certificates at the ceremony in the City Chambers.
Our Guest of Honour was Rev Dez Johnston, President of The Boys' Brigade UK & RoI, he inspected the parade outside the City Chambers in Cochrane Street, before we moved inside to the Banqueting Hall for the ceremony where he presented their certificates and gave an encouraging address, which included a quick break to film a video for his social channels (look out for him on Insta!).
Two of our King's Men, George and Alisdair, gave a presentation on the work required to gain the award including volunteering within their Companies & Churches, volunteering in their wider local communities and working on their own skills and a physical interest.
Bailie Norman MacLeod, extended a welcome and congratulations from the City, Rev Dr Alan Hamilton led the devotions.
Our thanks to the Band of the 25th Stirling (Dunblane) BB Company for their playing inside the City Chambers, and to the 130th and 205th Glasgow Companies whose Bugle Bands combined and lead the parade through the City Centre with all the ongoing roadworks it was from Glasgow Cathedral to Cochrane Street.
