Connecting, equipping and supporting our network of over 150 Baptist churches

At the heart of our Union has been a longing to resource a network of life-changing Baptist communities: living, breathing, growing churches, whose Christ-like living has a transformative impact on Scotland's villages, towns and cities. We pray that what we offer to one another realeases and equips us to reach our nation for Christ, to make disciples of thos

e who come to faith and to place them in a church that will build them up and send them out to live 'under Christ's rule'. We seek to do this by being:

Intentionally Relational

Unashamedly Missional

Creatively Rooted

Could God be calling you to help lead the next chapter of Increase across Scotland?

Across more than 150 Baptist churches, God is already at work- people are coming to faith, communities are being impacted, leaders are being equipped and we are already seeing Increase.

The Baptist Union of Scotland is seeking its next General Director: a prayerful, relational and visionary leader who can inspire and unite others and help us pursue our shared vision to see more people coming to faith in Jesus, churches growing in discipleship, and communities impacted by the good news.

Could this be the next chapter God is calling you to?

Applications close Friday 25 September 2026.

πŸ’œ INVEST AUGUST RESIDENTIAL πŸ’œ

Our INVEST Cohort had an amazing time at the August Residential weekend, which was also the last gathering for the 2025/26 cohort!

They spent some time looking at how our choices and habits form us on a daily basis. On Saturday they explored values of a leader and the significance and role that relationships with one another have in our life.

They were also blessed to be joined by in the evening who delivered a timely message about the unique call each individual has as part of the body of Christ!

We give thanks to God for the development and growth of 8 incredible young adults as they are commissioned into the next steps of their ministry and walk with Jesus! πŸ™πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

πŸ™πŸΌ WE PRAY for Castlehill Baptist Church as Church Member David Gilchrist shares the following prayer points.

"For the church:
Pray for God's continued presence, protection, and provision for the church and its ministries during our time of vacancy. Pray especially for the provision of good people to preach at Sunday services and also for people from within the congregation to help lead services and keep mid-week Bible study, prayer meetings and church ministries such as Pitter Patter, WLTDO and Buchanan Lodge going as normal. Pray for the ministry of guest speakers – that they would bring ' a word in season' that would encourage and build the church up.

For the search committee process:
Pray for wisdom, discernment, and clarity for those involved on the search for a new pastor. That they would know what to look for in any future pastor and that they would know clearly if it is the right person for the church as they engage with them. Pray that the Holy Spirit would give them the guidance, discernment, and wisdom that they need as they seek to find the person that God has chosen for us.

For a new pastor:
Pray for our future pastor to be, that they may be called by God and equipped with the necessary gifts to help the church grow and fulfil and develop its ministry in the years that lie ahead. Pray that they would be the right person to lead us as a church at this point in time and on into the future."

WE PRAY for Carnoustie Baptist Church, as Rev John Toller shares the following prayer points

"When we refreshed our building last year, our prayer was that it would be a welcoming place for people to come and hear the gospel, and where our church family could flourish in maturity and witness. So, praise God for new members, baptism, and that our Manna Cafe in particular continues to welcome lots of people from the community.

Pray that we would continue to see growth, and that those who come into the building would encounter Christ among us; that if it is God's will we'd have the people to restart our Toddler Group; and for a strengthened church leadership."

πŸ™ WE PRAY today for Castlemilk Baptist Church, who share the following prayer points:

"Castlemilk Community church is a small congregation, but we attract more with our lively worship and lunch after the service.

Our main prayer points are:

A) Prayer for our outreach project, which is open 4 days a week. We receive donations of used furniture which is then delivered throughout the area and beyond to people in their first tenancy, be that asylum seekers, young parents or people just coming out of prison. We also run English classes, an integration group for "New Scots" and meals together.

B) Prayer for peace as different ethnic groups and social groups are working together would be appreciated, as well as for Eileen Baxendale who manages the project.

C) We have been without a pastor for a number of years and are now actively trying to recruit. If you could pray that the right person would be found, we would be very grateful!"
