Our beloved Fr Hendry has been brought into the church to spend his final night in the parish he loved so dearly, resting in the presence of the Lord. His Funeral Mass will take place tomorrow at 12 noon. Please remember him, his family, and our parish in your prayers.

The Requiem Mass for our beloved Fr. Hendry will take place here in the parish on Monday, 12th January at 12 noon. He will be received into the church on Sunday, 11th of January at 6:30pm.

Please pray for the happy repose of his soul and thank God for his many years of service to our parish and to the Archdiocese!

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved Fr. Hendry, who returned to the Lord early this morning.

Fr. Hendry served our parish, for more than 30 years, with faithful devotion, humility, and love, touching countless lives through his ministry, prayer, and kindness. We give thanks to God for his life and priesthood, and we entrust his soul to the mercy of our Heavenly Father.

We ask all parishioners and friends to please keep him, his family, and our parish community in your prayers during this time of mourning.

It is with sorrow that the death is announced of Canon Tommy Hendry, former Parish Priest of St. Teresa of Lisieux, Possilpark Canon Tommy died this morning at St Joseph's Home, Robroyston. He was 85 years old.
He was ordained in June 1966 after studying for the priesthood at St Peter's College, Cardross. His life as a priest was full and varied and wherever he went his trademark smile and kindness were much appreciated.

1966-1980: Assistant Priest St Gregory's;
1973-1980: Chaplain Notre Dame High School;
1973-1983: Chaplain Sisters of Notre Dame Dowanhill;
1980-1985: Assistant Chaplain Glasgow University;
1985: Assistant Priest Sacred Heart Cumbernauld;
1990: Parish Priest St Teresa's Possilpark;
2018: Installed to the Chapter of Canons;
2024: Retired

A reminder to all who are due to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation here in St. Augustine’s tomorrow evening, children and sponsors should arrive at the church no later than 6:40pm to register and prepare for the celebration. Children are asked to wear their full school uniform.
