Saddened to hear of Bill's passing. He was known to many within Knightswood Congregational.

It was with great sadness that last week we learned of the passing of the Revd Bill Ferguson.

Bill was the sixth Minister of Broomhill Church, serving for 25 years from 1987 until 2012, and throughout that time he served both the church and the wider community with great distinction.

Alongside his parish ministry, Bill also served in a variety of other roles, including as a consultant to Radio Clyde, a much-loved and distinguished after-dinner speaker, chaplain to St Margaret’s Hospice in Clydebank, and as Moderator of the Presbytery of Glasgow. He even had a brief (starring) role in an episode of Taggart.

His ministry was widely known and deeply appreciated; his friendship long-lasting, his wit warmly remembered, and his presence a great source of comfort to many.

Bill's funeral will be held at Clydebank Crematorium on Monday 29 December 11.30am.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Marian, Suzannah, Claire and the wider Ferguson family at this time.

On Christmas Eve, we invited support for two worthwhile charities: Drumchapel Foodbank and Glasgow Hospitals Children’s Charity.

On the night, we raised over £236. Those church members present agreed with the Church Secretary’s proposal to round this up, and our compassionate Treasurer suggested increasing the total to £400.00.

Our sincere thanks go to everyone who attended and supported us on Christmas Eve and these good causes. All funds raised that night will be donated to the named charities.

Thank you to all who came along tonight for our Christmas Eve service. Merry Christmas to all ✨⛪️🐫

It is never easy to find the right words to express the anguish and disgust felt in response to the terrible events on Bondi Beach in Australia.

The heinous actions of those individuals are unfathomable to me, as they are to many like-minded people. History teaches us, through the atrocities inflicted upon Jews, Freemasons, homosexuals and others during the Holocaust, that we must remember the devastating loss of life that occurs when people are targeted simply for being different — in faith, political belief, skin colour, or way of life. There is no place for such intolerance, and no justification for violence against our fellow human beings.

I hope I speak for many within the church I serve when I say that, regardless of differing views on the Israel–Palestinian conflict, we stand against the killing of any people and, at this time in particular, against violence directed at our Jewish brothers and sisters. As Christians, we share far more in common with the Jewish community than we often realise.

May God have mercy on us all.

Good morning one and all!!
Today is our final day of our pantomime Cinderella!!
It’s been so much fun this week and it’s sad for it to be coming to an end.
Today we have 2 sell out shows and we are excited to welcome more people into our memorial hall for fun and laughter.
Our church is a welcoming and friendly church. It doesn’t matter who (or what) you are, you are always welcome at our events or on a Sunday morning.
So thank you one and all for supporting us now and throughout the year.
From everyone on the Panto Team we thank you for being our amazing audience and we can’t wait for our final 2 performances (and the “gathering” afterwards).
Hope to see you all at our Family Christmas Eve Service 7pm.
