Archbishop Nolan met last week with the Parish Council of St Leo’s, Dumbreck, marking the first formal step in the process leading towards the merger of St Leo’s Parish with Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.

During the meeting, it was suggested that the parishioners of St Leo’s be given an opportunity to meet with OLOL parishioners so that the many gifts, talents, and experiences within their parish community can be identified and encouraged to flourish. Such a gathering will be arranged in the near future.

The next stage of the merger process will take place when Archbishop Nolan meets with Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Council tomorrow Thursday 18th June at 7.00pm.

We are grateful to Feriale Nasr for generously giving of her time on Sunday morning to help us deepen our knowledge and appreciation of St Charbel.

We also thank parishioners for their generous purchase of holy objects. A total of £325 was raised, which will help to cover transportation costs associated with the apostolate dedicated to promoting devotion to St Charbel.

An image of St Charbel Makhlouf is now displayed in the St Margaret of Scotland Alcove. Known as the miracle-worker of Lebanon, St Charbel is venerated throughout the world as a powerful intercessor in heaven. Countless people have experienced his prayers and assistance, making him a source of hope, comfort, and spiritual strength for all who seek his intercession.
