We keep in our prayers our dear parishioner William Higgins who has sadly passed. He will be received into our Church on Monday 31st August at 6pm and his Requiem Mass will take place on Tuesday 1st September at 10am.

Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

We also keep William’s family in our prayers at this time.

Walking Together in Hope – Why the Catholic Church Engages in Interreligious Dialogue
Join the Committee for Interreligious Dialogue of the Bishops’ Conference of Scotland for a special one-day conference exploring the Church’s commitment to interreligious dialogue and how this can be lived out in our parishes and communities.
The day will include talks from Fr John Gannon, Fr Jim Lawlor and Joe Sikora, covering the history and importance of Nostra Aetate, the place of interreligious dialogue in parish life, and practical guidance for parishes wishing to take their first steps in this area.
There will also be opportunities for questions, discussion and reflection throughout the day.

Happy Feast Day to all our Parishioners 🙏

Today the Church celebrates St Monica, remembered for her steadfast faith, perseverance in prayer and deep trust in God.

St Monica is known especially as the mother of St Augustine of Hippo. For many years, she prayed faithfully for her son as he searched for truth and wandered away from the Christian faith. Her prayers and patient witness accompanied Augustine on his journey, and she lived to see him embrace the faith and be baptised by St Ambrose in 387.

Today we also wish everyone at St.Monica's Parish Coatbridge a blessed and joyful feast day as they celebrate their patron saint.

We’re delighted to be hosting a very special Brother Walfrid Night in St Monica’s Parish Hall on Friday 18th September! 💚

It’s set to be a brilliant evening celebrating the life and legacy of Brother Walfrid, with fascinating talks from Dr M Connolly on Brother Walfrid and Dr J Bradley on Irish Immigration.

🎶 We’ll also have live music from The Dubliner to keep the night going!
