That's section 19 transcribed. In total I took 1,801 photographs. Most of the plots in this section appear to be opened between 1961 & 1967. Still a lot of stones broken, damaged or face down. The database is at 21,945 names. This section has the memorial to babies, briefly known. I will now try to marry up as many of the photos to their plot numbers. Section 18 is next

Ive made a start on Section 19 but will wait for the next dry day to have a good go at this section.

I took advantage of the bright yellow thing in the sky today and photographed the rest of Section 17 this afternoon. I also made a start on section 19. That's 2,041 photos to document this section. I'll transcribe these photos to add to my database, which at present stands at 18,883 names.

During the winter I have been matching up plot numbers from online sources to my own database. I've managed to get good amount of plot numbers for sections 9,10,13,14,15 and 16.

Ive been matching up plot numbers against the headstone's I have. It got me looking into the first lair book from 1882 to 1909.

Couple of things. St Kentigern's was originally known as Lochburn Catholic Cemetery, Maryhill.

The second thing is that the internments were from all over Glasgow. The Gorbals, Baillieston, Govan, St Rollox, Dennistoun, Anderston and Plantation.

Then I came across the Mulheron family from Hutchesontown in the Gorbals. This is the rate of death that family suffered.

Thats Section 15 photographed and transcribed. I took a total of 2100 photos and from that I recorded a further 2,106 names. This section was in a particularly bad state around the middle. Numerous severly vandalised stones. There are quite a few Italian families at the bottom of the hill in this section. I now have approximately 18,800 names. Im also concentrating on plot numbers on the stones and online to pinpoint how the plots are laid.

The plots appeared to be opened around 1948 to 1950.

Section 17 is next.

Ive transcribed the first 1,000 photos of section 15. Most of the plots so far appear to have been opened in 1948/49. There's now 17,700 names recorded. Ive been matching as many graves as I can to plot numbers recorded in the lair books. This will give me the opportunity to give close locations of plots that don't have headstones. Chris
