I am delighted that Fraser and his family were made so welcome by the parish community, that the parish pilgrimage to Lourdes, his daughter Mairi-Therese's First Confession and First Communion and his son Michael's baptism were particular moments of grace for his family....

An important message from Fr Allan, who will be the new Parish Priest of both St Brigid’s and Holy Cross from September 19: “I'm Fr Allan Cameron and am looking forward to coming to the parishes of St Brigid's and Holy Cross. Unfortunately, I had already booked my annual summer holiday before the Archbishop asked me to move. Therefore, my first weekend in the two parishes will be 4/5 October....

An Important Announcement from Fr Byrne (To be read at all Masses 5/6 July 2025) Archbishop Nolan recently decided to make a number of clergy changes which will be effective from September 19th. Several of these changes will directly affect Brigid’s. Concretely: Since Fr Michael Woodford from Gabriel’s and Fr Gerard Hill from St Vincent’s in Thornliebank are retiring, he has asked Monsignor Bradley and Father Lukose to leave Holy Cross and transfer to St Gabriel’s Parish....

We look forward to welcoming Christopher Nickol who will give the organ concert this Saturday at 6.30pm!

Christopher Nickol was a music scholar at Ampleforth College; an organ scholar at Royal Holloway College, University of London; & a postgraduate scholar at the Royal College of Music. Since 1993, he has been Director of Music at New Kilpatrick Church, Bearsden and he has been a deputy organist at Glasgow Cathedral & Glasgow University Memorial Chapel. He is a staff member of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a pianist at The Dance School of Scotland. He is accompanist to the Bearsden Choir, Arkleston Singers & Coats Choral and has played for several other choirs in central Scotland.
Christopher has given recitals throughout the U.K., Europe and the U.S.A. He has broadcast on BBC Radio & TV and has released 6 CDs featuring famous organs in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dublin, Dunblane & Dundee. He is a regular contributor to Kelvingrove Art Gallery's series of daily organ concerts, giving around 35 recitals each year.
Away from the organ bench, Christopher enjoys relaxing to the sight of old classic Doctor Who episodes and the sound of prog. rock (primarily Genesis), The Goon Show & I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue.

We look forward to welcoming Christopher Nickol who will give the organ concert this Saturday at 6.30pm!

It is said that, when a listener marvelled at his virtuosic organ playing, Johan Sebastian Bach responded that 'There is nothing remarkable about it, all one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself.' Since the 2024-25 session began with the installation of our new organ, there are a great many more keys for one to 'hit' in the organ loft of St Brigid's....
