I invite all the faithful to take part in a day of fasting and prayer on August 22, imploring the Lord to grant us peace and justice, and to wipe away the tears of those who suffer because of ongoing armed conflicts. May Mary, Queen of Peace, intercede so that peoples may find the path of peace. *Pope Leo XIV *

Our Diocesan Pilgrimage celebrated their Penance Service yesterday, an opportunity for all pilgrims to encounter God's boundless love and mercy in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

In the afternoon we joined with the Diocese of Dunkeld to celebrate a memorial Mass for Fr Martin Chambers, RIP (Bishop-elect of Dunkeld Diocese). The Mass was presided by Bishop Andrew McKenzie and preached by Bishop Frank.

After Mass, our pilgrimage shared ice cream to get out of the heat, before gathering again in the evening for the Torchlight Procession. Pilgrims from Galloway led the procession, as well as Youth assisting with carrying the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes, and Hospitalité lighting the way with the torches.

This morning we will celebrate Mass in the Grotto, remembering in a particular way the prayers and intentions of our pilgrimage but also all of the people of the Diocese.

For more updates and photos go to Youth for Lourdes (Galloway) and Galloway Lourdes Hospitalité .
