The Friends of Kent Churches Sponsored Ride & Stride this year takes place on Saturday 12th September 2026. We will be welcoming riders at St Luke's during our Open Day as well as having some Riders and Striders participating raising funds for the Friends of Kent Churches as well as St. Luke's.
It's a great reason to visit places of worship in our area. And it's an opportunity to raise money for Kent’s churches and chapels by cycling or walking to as many as you want or are able. Money raised is shared equally between the church or chapel nominated by the participant and the Friends of Kent Churches, which awards grants to help preserve them. In 2025 Kent’s Ride & Stride raised £152,674.

Everyone is warmly invited to our special Church Open Day on Saturday 12th September 2026. The church will be open for displays and moments of quiet reflection. Come into our hall to see the total refurbishment- windows and new false suspended ceiling - which helps reduce loss of heat to make us more eco minded. There will be a stalls, community cafe and a produce /craft competition. We also welcome Riders and Striders taking part in the Friends of Kent Churches sponsored cycle ride.

On Saturday 12th September, we are having our annual Open Day, in connection with the Ride and Stride for Kent Churches. This year we are having a Produce and Craft Show. Do you like making and baking? If so, then this is just for you. Please see the attachments and hopefully see you on the 12th September with your lemon drizzle cake or your three well matched carrots or even a beanie hat!! This open for all ages.

Today, Maundy Thursday, marks the start of the Triduum. We mark the Institution of the Eucharist with Mass at 8pm which includes feet washing and ’keeping watch’ with Jesus as he enters the Garden of Gethsemene, until Midnight.
