Family Tree - Belonging - Believing

Family Tree - Belonging - Believing People of all ages who meet together for an hour or so on Sunday to find out more about God. No knowledge is needed. We end our time with some food/chat!

We are people of all ages and backgrounds who meet together for an hour and a bit (the bit is for food and/or play!) every second Sunday afternoon and every second week midweek to find out more about who God is, what the Bible is about and how unique each one of us is! One of our aims is to build a caring community and bridge the gaps between the generations.

Walk. Pray. Reflect. Welcome the new year together.

It might look quieter on the page but all pandemic we have continued to meet, often online, sometimes outside in local parks and gardens. It means our numbers have been a bit smaller but there has only been a growing sense of being supportive towards each other.

In this time our commitment to love Glasgow and wish only good things for our city has only grown & we look forward to getting back to the outside-the-building ways of being present in our community.

Some photos from our pandemic time are posted below.

::::::::::::::Holy Saturday :::::::::::::

Darkness fell on Friday.
Jesus friends were scattered.
His family grieved.
Hope seemed lost.
But heaven just started counting to three......

We might not be posting here as regularly but we have met faithfully once to twice every single week since lockdown on March 23rd. We have connected by Zoom and after July 15th for a few short weeks, we met outside. We are as keen to invite you to join us as we ever were! The younger members of FT connect on some of our Zoom calls and most definitely continue to be supported and prayed for in these testing times back at school. Many of us as adults have experienced anxiety, worry and even COVID itself but we have tried our best to be as supportive as we can. We firmly believe in the power of prayer and over the last few months we have seen some outstanding answers to prayer in many people's lives. We have hope!

This week you are invited to join us on Friday 13 November at 7.30pm (till approx 8.30pm) for our second Great Family Tree Online Quiz. A wee hint at what one of the rounds is about is on the pictures below!

Message this page for more details and to join in.

If we can pray for you in any way, send a message to the page and we promise to pray. You don't need to give lots of details. Just an outline of what we can pray for, no names required. if you prefer to be anonymous, contact [email protected]

This week we’ve been trying to bring as much care and encouragement to each other as we possibly can under lockdown conditions. In Family Tree we firmly believe each one has a part to play in being kind and caring to others. Yesterday we looked at the example of Barnabas, the ultimate encourager!
PS re the picture: no public meetings have been held breaking government guidelines! 😩

In Family Tree we had the privilege of meeting Bill and his family a few times when some of us helped out at tea bar and stewarding at the annual fireworks display. This is such sad news to hear - his heart was so for Pollokshaws, even though we didn’t know him beyond that contact, when he spoke about running the fireworks event it was obvious he so wanted the people of Pollokshaws to have their ‘thing’ and the mix of people of all ages was a lovely thing to see. We will be paying our respects at 1.20pm on Shawbridge Street today ❤️

A community stalwart who was dedicated to helping local people has died, aged 60.
