In just one month’s time, we’ll be gathering for our special Civic Sunday service on Sunday 24th May at 10:30am, as we welcome our new Mayor, Sandra Perkins.

Everyone in the community is warmly invited, but we’d especially love to see all our local Scouts and Girlguiding groups there for the flag parade and service – a great chance to be part of something special together.

After the service, stay for free cake and refreshments – a perfect time to celebrate as a community.

We hope to see you there!

You’re welcome at our first ever Easteringle service!

A bit like the Christingle is to Christmas, at the Easteringle you can expect chocolate, marshmallows and mini-eggs as we retell the Easter story.

Why not share the invitation with a friend?

St Thomas’ churchyard in Garstang is a place that means a great deal to many people — somewhere families come to remember loved ones and find a moment of peace.

Parts of the churchyard can become very wet, which can make visiting distressingly difficult at times. We want this to be a place that is cared for well and accessible to all who come.

Alongside the ongoing care and maintenance that already takes place, we are hoping to raise funds to carry out further work to improve drainage in the churchyard. To help make this possible, a fundraiser has been set up with a goal of raising £15,000.

We are especially grateful to Rebekah who has kindly established this fundraising effort on behalf of the community.

If you feel able to support this, any donation would be greatly appreciated. Sharing this appeal would also help spread the word within the community.

Thank you for helping us care for this important place for our community.

Take your kids to church.

Even if they wiggle in the seat.
Even if they whisper too loud.
Even if you feel like everyone is looking at you.
Bring them anyway.

Because church isn’t about perfectly behaved kids.
It’s about raising kids who know where to run when life gets heavy.
It’s about teaching them that when they’re scared… they can pray.
When they’re hurting… they can turn to God.
When they feel lost… they know where to go.

And if you haven’t gone in a long time… that’s okay.
If it’s been years… that’s okay too.
If you’ve never taken them before… that’s okay.
You can start now.

Your kids don’t need a perfect parent leading them.
They just need a parent who’s willing.

Let them see you worship.
Let them see you pray.
Let them see you trust God even when you don’t have all the answers.

Because one Sunday can turn into a habit.
And a habit can turn into a foundation.
And that foundation might be the very thing that carries them through the hardest moments of their lives one day.

So if you’ve been feeling that little tug in your heart lately…
This might be your sign.

Take your kids to church.

God will meet you there 🙏

Introducing… The Easteringle!

You’ve heard of the Christingle… but have you heard of the Easteringle?

This Good Friday (3rd April at 10am) at St Thomas' Church we’re hosting a family-friendly service where children can build their own edible Easter scene while exploring the story of the first Easter.

Using sweets and chocolate, we’ll think about the meaning of Golgotha, the cross, the garden, and the joy of resurrection in a fun and memorable way.

Then on Easter Sunday (5th April at 10:30am), children will receive a chocolate “tomb” egg to complete their Easteringle and celebrate that Jesus is risen!

It’s designed especially with children and families in mind, but everyone is very welcome.
