St James & John The Anglican Church to the South of Lancaster covering areas including Forton, Galgate, Ellel, Shireshead and Lancaster University.

Our meeting times: 9:30am at St James’, Shireshead, 11am at St John’s, Ellel We are the Anglican church in the village of Ellel where you will receive a warm welcome. Every week we have Communion and a bible-centred sermon. There is something for children every week. Check out our website for more information

On Saturday February 28th the University of Lancaster Music Society Concert in St John’s Church, Ellel. The concert begins at 7pm and tickets are £7 (£5 concessions) and can be bought in advance from Helen Ballard or you can pay on the door.
In previous years these concerts have been varied and of a high standard with choirs and instrumental groups.
Hot and cold refreshments will be available in the interval.

It was announced this morning that the vicar, Rev. Craig Abbott has been appointed as Vicar (half-time) of Over Kellet, St. Cuthbert’s to go alongside his role as Head of Children, Youth and Chaplaincy with Blackburn Diocesan Board of Education. His last Sunday in the parish of St. St James & John will be Sunday 1st February for a joint service at 10:30am to which all are welcome and there will be drinks and food after the service. His institution and induction at St. Cuthbert’s will be on Monday 2nd March at 7:30pm.
