South West Early Winds Weekend

South West Early Winds Weekend A new early winds ensemble course happening in Frome, Somerset, with tutors Adam Woolf (Sackbut) and Helen Roberts (Cornett)

Come and join Adam Woolf and myself for a full two days of music for early winds. Open to cornett, sackbut, double reed and recorder players, we'll spend two days rehearsing and workshopping 16th and 17th century ensemble music, with a focus on German repertoire, and perform a short concert on the Sunday afternoon. We'll also be working with the choir of Christchurch Frome, so there'll be an oppor

tunity to sing for those who'd like. Repertoire will include music by Schütz and Schein, along with their contemporaries, depending on the forces attending, and will be a great opportunity to explore this wonderful music as a group. The course will take place in venues around Frome, a small and beautiful town 10 miles from Bath, and the closing concert will take place in Christ Church, where there is a really lovely acoustic. The course will cost £70 (£50 for students), which includes ensemble coaching and light refreshments (but not meals). There are various options for accommodation in and around Frome, details of which can be found on the information sheet below. To reserve your place, email [email protected] or telephone Helen on (01373) 462624.
