Frodsham Methodist Church

Frodsham Methodist Church Frodsham Methodist Church is a lively, busy Church aiming to share God’s Love in our community. The alterations to our worship area were completed in 2004. F. B.

Frodsham Methodist Church, a church in the Connexion of the Methodist Church of Great Britain, is located in the market town of Frodsham in Cheshire. We are part of, what Methodist jargon calls, the North Cheshire Circuit and, in turn, the Chester and Stoke-on-Trent District. There have been Methodist people worshipping in Frodsham since at least 1776 and there have been numerous places of worship

since then. The spire of Trinity Methodist Church on High Street in the centre of Frodsham is still a local landmark, for instance. Today, we are a large, welcoming Church of about 180 members (and many more 'adherents', regular attenders and users of our facilities) offering something for everyone. Frodsham Methodist Church is now based in the building on Kingsley Road in the Fivecrosses/Overton area of the town. The building was completed in 1885, although it has been extended and renovated extensively since. In 2010, we celebrated 125 years of the present building (pictures below). As a Church we wanted to hold fast to our Methodist heritage as well as look to the future and the modernisation gives the Church a very contemporary feel and has allowed for diversity and innovation in our worship. We also benefit from a Church Hall at the rear of our premises which has a large hall, small hall, toilets and modern kitchen. In March, 2011, 'The Annexe' was officially opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Frodsham at the time, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd. 'The Annexe' is the latest addition to our Church premises with a large room specially designed for messy activities like crafts and cookery, meeting/quiet room, Circuit and Church office as well as kitchenette and accessible toilet. We also have a soft play area and quiet garden outside. Parking is available on the Church Premises (comfortably for about 25 cars) and also on quiet residential streets nearby. HOW TO FIND US

‘Closing our ears to the voices of those most vulnerable to climate change would be nothing less than giving up our claim to be disciples of Christ. – Hope in God’s Future’

For World Environment Day, our Net Zero engagement officer Jack shares his reflections on climate action and faith 💬

"For the Methodist Church, our commitment to net zero is not just driven by our belief that we need to restore good relations with the rest of God’s creation. With climate change posing a disproportionate risk to the world’s most vulnerable communities, it is also part of our enduring mission to seek and do justice.

This World Environment Day, we call to mind that although the injustice of a warming world is global in scope, the work we can do to limit this warming starts in our own lives, our own churches, and our own communities.”

A prayer at Pentecost, for Aldersgate Sunday 🙏

Holy Spirit come again this Pentecost:
Out of the depth we call.
Cut through the noise to still our souls and warm our hearts.
Open our ears to hear and understand.
Give us to unhurried work as those assured by grace.
Holy Spirit come again this Pentecost:
Out of the depth we call.
Prevent us from harm, raise our hope, comfort our lament.
Persist in us as conscience, care and love.
As you awoke our brother John, awaken us: from his Aldersgate into our own.
Amen.

This sounds like a really interesting event. Please go along and support our friends at St Laurence if you can.
