Come and join us at our Womens’ Breakfast on Saturday 19 September, 9-10:30am in The Stables, Frant. We are delighted to have Sandy Rogers talking to us about “Growing strong in the seasons of life”.

Please sign up so we know numbers and do invite a friend if you would like. This is a free event but we do ask for voluntary donations on the day to cover our costs.

Cathedral service attendance in the UK has risen for the fifth year running, according to the .

A total of 32,600 people attended weekly services – such as Evensong, Morning and Evening Prayer or Sunday Eucharist - at Church of England cathedrals in 2025. Sunday attendance was up notably among adults, at eight per cent higher than in 2024.

There was also a six per cent overall increase in Christmas attendance and five per cent rise in Easter attendance.

Additionally, 657,700 people attended 2,080 specially arranged services over the year and 295,000 at additional regular services such as services for schools.

The figures show the number of choirs in Cathedrals rose to a record high of 208, mainly due to a big rise over the last decade of mixed choirs.

Cathedrals also hosted 1.83 million people at public or civic events, such as graduation ceremonies, and welcomed 9.23 million visitors.

Did you know that as a church, we started Frant school in our village more than 200 years ago. This was way before the universal education act, and showed that our church and people of our parish thought it was worth educating children no matter their ability and no matter their prospects. This school wasn’t built for those families who had money, they already sent their children to private schools. No, this school was built for those families who worked the farms or the estates in the parish.

Cracking sermon from Brendan on truth - social media has fractured the truth into multiple simultaneous and personal truths which is a ridiculous notion. There is only the truth.
Pontius Pilot says to Jesus at the point of crucifixion: “What is truth?” Jesus does not reply; his resurrection is about to provide the answer.

Remember: “Do not be afraid” is the most repeated phrase in the Bible.

We start this Sunday with Palm Sunday:
9:15 Eridge Morning Prayer, 10:30 Frant Holy Communion
(Don’t forget - Clocks go Forward this Sunday!)

This is Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. He is welcomed as King, but he is not like other Kings – this King comes in humility to serve his people in the ultimate way.
