I saw this today in a popular Christian comic strip and it reminded me ... It's actually okay for a Christian to have a bad day.

Sounds silly to have to even say it, but you don't have to smile all the time to be a good Christian. Honesty and sincerity are traits much more pleasing to God than constant joviality.

So be kind and don't expect everyone to smile at you all the time. They may be experiencing something difficult to smile about.

This statement from the Free Church of Scotland, should speak the heart of every church and Christian individual in the whole of the UK :

'This week a violent attack on members of the Jewish community took place in London, the latest in a spate of such incidents amidst a growing climate of antisemitism in the United Kingdom.

The Free Church of Scotland expresses its deep concern at the reported rise in antisemitism in the United Kingdom and elsewhere in recent times. We unequivocally condemn antisemitism in all its forms, along with every expression of racism and religious intolerance. Such attitudes are incompatible with the teaching of Scripture and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

“We recognise the fear and alarm now widespread in the Jewish community in the United Kingdom as a result of these and other forms of hatred expressed towards them. At this time of heightened tension and fear, we pray that Jewish people in our land will be able to live in peace, safety and security. We call on all people to reject hatred, pursue truth, and act with justice, mercy, and humility.'

Speaking out publicly for Christ is what the Lord has asked of all of us. It's wonderful when one of those in a position of authority does so before the whole world.

'Pray for those in authority over us ...' - 1 Timothy 2.1-2

We have had one person say they definitely would like to be baptised, after having heard John's message on Sunday and another is considering it. That means we will definitely have a Baptismal service in the near future. If you would like to be included, please do message us and let us know to include you in our thinking.

Also, as the question has come up, the person being baptised does not have to be a member of our church or even attend. If they truly have received Christ as their saviour and are willing to testify to that fact publicly, then John is very happy to baptise them.

You may know of someone not part of our church who would like to be baptised. Let them know of our plan and put them in touch with us. 🙏

This past Sunday John shared a message on the topic of Water Baptism.

Many people have questions relating to Water Baptism, and John has done his best to address some of these in as simple terms as possible.

If you know of anyone considering being baptised, you might want to share this message with them. And, if you have any further questions please free to message them to us as well and we'll do our best to answer.

This coming Sunday morning (19 April), John will be speaking about Baptism.

Over the course of a year we are asked several times about whether our church performs Baptisms and what a person has to do in order to be Baptised.

We administer what we like to call, 'Believers' Baptism', in that we only Baptise someone who has made a personal decision to become a Christian, having no one making that decision for them. This is done by immersion (not sprinkling) in our church's Baptistry (or in a suitable location of your choice).

If you have questions about Baptism or would like to be Baptised at some point, we would like to invite you to come along and hear John's message.

As always a warm welcome awaits you and there's no pressure to do anything other than listen and enjoy the service.
